Verifying Good Setup of RoR + PostgreSQL
I''ve been reading the RoR tutorials and wiki help stuff, but I''m stuck. :(
I''ve got RoR installed properly and get the "Welcome aboard! You''re
riding the rails." I have an "article" controller, "article" model, and
both an "article" and "articles" views (one is a remnant, I think, and
no longer needed) (the

http://rubyonrails.org/download
I am able to startup Ruby and visit http://localhost:3000 and see my
start page.
This is where I am hitting two stumbling blocks.
I see the Rails welcome aboard page, and I click

Hello you all,
this is my first time on this forum because I recently started to learn
this exciting "new" language and Frame stuff...
anyway, I used to have Ruby 1.8.2 installed with Rails and I wrote some
warmup applications on these. Yesterday I decided to update my Ruby and
Rails... about 4-5 hours later I finished... it wasn''t easy but what

Still having config problems
Hi,
Having completely failed to sort out my apache 500 error, I thought I
would work through the "Rolling with Ruby on Rails" tutorial at
http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2005/01/20/rails.html
I am using webrick, not apache - and still getting 500 errors.
When I get to page 4 where
http://127.0.0.1:3000/recipe/new
should give me a data entry screen, instead I get...

http://hivelogic.com/articles/2005/12/01/ruby_rails_lighttpd_mysql_tiger
Then I looked on page 457 in the Agile Rails book for instructions

wxruby gems
Hi
Following on from some talk last year of creating gems for wxruby, I''ve
attached a first try at them (for 0.6.0, not wxruby-swig). I mainly made
them because I want to ease installation of Weft QDA by adding wxruby
(and sqlite) as gem dependencies, but hopefully they will be generally
useful.
A couple of queries:
1) Who should be listed as author?
2) It doesn''t include

Problems with Sqlite3 and apt-get
I am new to Ruby, and have a problem to install Sqlite3.
After searching the previous posts, I found a solution, first to do :
sudo apt-get install libsqlite3-0 libsqlite3-dev
However, I am on an AWS Ec2 instance which don''t have apt-get, only
with yum. Would anyone please
tell me how to install apt-get, or how to use yum to install
libsqlite3-dev ? Really appreciate !

SQLite concurrency, SQLite3::BusyException
I am currently experiencing concurrency issues after moving from MySQL
to SQLite.
My original program worked fined using MySQL but is now returning
"SQLite3::BusyException" errors. The same result happens whether or
not I enable the allow_concurrency flag.
If I do manually acquire a lock on the SQLite DB the problem would
disapear, but I thought that rails was supposed to handle this

First time with Ruby - how to print "Hello World!" via web-server
Hello Everyone,
first off - I''m NOT a programmer. I know HTML/CSS very well and PHP
quite well, yet not I''m in need of a more "active" language and I''ve
decided to go with Ruby.
Thing is, I''ve been able to find ton of tutorials, but NOT ONE answers
the most basic question - what exactly do I have to upload to the server
to simply get a (any) response
