Fwd: [ mocha-Bugs-7834 ] infinte_range.rb makes incorrect assumption about to_f
Thanks for reporting the bug below.
You''re absolutely right. Renamed Range#to_s implementation to #mocha_inspect
and checked first and last respond_to?(:to_f) as you suggested.
Sorry for the delay - I wasn''t monitoring the rubyforge trackers. I am now!
Should be fixed in revision 99 of trunk.

allow stubbing of previously defined methods such as "id"
On my current project I needed to create a stub that responded
correctly to the id message. Here''s the change I put into my copy of
head.

Reducing object polution and mocha?
Hi Kevin,
Not currently, I''m afraid - I always realised it was a possible problem, but
we haven''t run into it in our use of Mocha so far. I guess you''re pushing
the envelope with it, which is great.
If you only need to do it for one or two objects, you could just undefine
the offending methods. In the meantime I''ll look into a better solution. It

Mock "Consent_6335" received unexpected message :marked_for_destruction? with (no args)
I have a mock object (Person) that is associated with another object
(my_object) through a belongs_to association. When I check whether
my_object is valid (my_object.should be_valid), I am getting an error
like the following:
Mock "Person_6338" received unexpected

counter-intuitive behaveour when passing a proc to Mocha::Expectation#returns
Let''s say that I have a procedure that:
* gets the number of bytes to write into some file
* and returns the number of successfully written bytes
def save( text, len )
This procedure is being used all over the place especially inside the method
"process" which I want to test. Thus in order not to polute my filesystem I stub
the "save" procedure. But of course in

puppet doc questions
Does puppet doc require a specific version of any gems (such as rdoc or

I''m getting some errors when I try to generate my rdoc now.

strange sqlite3 errors - validates_associated & failing activerecord unit tests
I''m getting two strange errors, both which I believe relate to sqlite3.
The first one is with validates associated. Here is my test:
require File.dirname(__FILE__) + ''/../test_helper''
class SubscriptionPlanTest < Test::Unit::TestCase
fixtures :subscription_plans
fixtures :publications
def setup

rspec-puppet not working
I''m trying to get rspec-puppet working and have run into a problem. I have
a VM running ubuntu lucid, have installed rubygems 1.3.5 from the apt
package and have install rspec-puppet (and other required gems), and rake,
using gem install.
I''ve run rspec-puppet-init in the module I want to test, and have created a
very basic spec file for one of the classes in my module.

Problems getting rspec testing working in OSX?
Hey Gang,
Running into a weird error when trying to follow puppetlabs'' blog:
https://puppetlabs.com/blog/the-next-generation-of-puppet-module-testing/
I''m running 10.8.2, using default ruby, in an attempt to make my home env a little more sane, (ran into weird rbenv issues at work, which I won''t go into here)
The google tells me not a whole lot. Appreciate any help

Issue / code smell in AssociationProxy
I came across an issue in my code and after a hard debug session I
found something that smells.
First the context of my issue. I have a AR object that has a
polymorphic belongs_to currently tied to nothing, I want to dump it to
YAML.
record.to_yaml
This raises the following exception:

removing Mocha; 'spec spec' fails but the specific model file passes
I happened to mix ryan bates'' authentication scaffold with
rspec_scaffold on a demo project.
and ran into the problem of mixing mock frameworks...ryan uses mocha.
So, as a learning experience, I choose to redo ryan''s tests without
mocha but ran into a strange problem with tests of the User model.
With debugging you can see....
If you run just the user_spec.rb file, everything

hash to_yaml in erb template not giving valid yaml
Hi,
I want to use a file resource to write a facts.yaml file for
Mcollective. For some reason it won''t provide a valid yaml format if I
dump my scope to hash and convert to_yaml.

"/etc/mcollective/facts.yaml" :

did something in revision 68 break stubs?
Hi,
I''ve been a happy user of Mocha for a while now. My current project is
by far the most complicated I''ve ever worked on and Mocha has made
testing it much easier than it would otherwise be.
So, I was highly disturbed to come in this morning, run svn up and find
that something in today''s update broke lots of my tests. I use Mocha as
a Rails plugin under

not able to find to_yaml definition
I am looking at rails edge source code.
I am able to do
puts User.find.to_yaml
However I am not able to find piece of code where ''def to_yaml'' is.
How this to_yaml serialization is working?
can fully understand how to_json and to_xml is working but to_yaml
beats me.
Thanks

I am trying to save a Mechanize object in database (using a Rails Model).
But the save operation throws a TypeError

to_yaml problem with option hash
Hi,
I''m trying to make a fixture for testing with a serialized column. In
the YAML fixture I''m trying to fill the serialized column with the
to_yaml function. But I keep getting the ''---'' separator, which I don''t
want because it is only a ''partial'' yaml fill.
According to the documentation to_yaml takes a hash of options, so
