[Bug 323] arp -n flag doesn't exist under Solaris, ssh_prng_cmds still uses it
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323 ------- Additional Comments From luc at suryo.com 2002-06-30 05:40 ------- A better solution is to install the pacthes that will support /dev/random and /dev/urandom. Then recompile openssl and then openssh. Solaris 8: 112438-01 patch for Sparc 112439-01 patch for x86 Solaris 9: has standard /dev/random and /dev/urandom Not sure if one can

problem with the "arp" command (using the pub flag)
Hi all. I experienced a strange behaviour in the "arp" command when I use the "pub" (publishing) flag. This is the scenario (I know it''s an unusual one, but it''s just for a test): __________ | | | host C | | | |__________| | __________|________________________________

bridge / ubuntu / no arp reply
Hello I'm trying to setup a bridged guest on an ubuntu 13.10 but it doesn't work. (Everything is ok with NAT) Network sniffing shows that arp replies don't come back to the guest. Test 1 ------ Guest : ping host_bridge_ip (ok) Test 2 ------ Guest: ping other_lan_host (KO) other_lan_host - receives arp who-is request - sends arp reply

Ipsec and Proxy arp
I noticed the long standing Ipsec FSwan problem was fixed. But do you still have to make sure Ipec is not running when shorewall starts Reason I ask Is I could not get my Dmz working with Ipsec in the equation. Thanks Mike

How does Linux choose ARP request source IP?
I'm looking into some network "weirdness", and I noticed that a CentOS 6 system with multiple IP addresses (load balancer running keepalived) is sending ARP requests from apparently random source IPs. I would have thought that ARP requests would always come from the interface's "primary" IP (especially since keepalived adds all the virtual IPs with a /32 mask). This

Is ''publish'' proxy arp still broken ?
Can''t get proxy arp with arp -s <IPaddr> <MACaddr> pub to work with a 2.4 kernel. I see some evidence in the archive that this was broken in the 2.0.x timeframe and never fixed. Anyone know for sure if it''s broken or working ? (I''m attempting to route a few addresses into a routed network, from the ethernet side of a DSL router that has a /29 public

arp who-has packets not seen in Dom0 even by tcpdump
Hi all, I''m running Xen-3.2 and linux-image-2.6.18 as Dom0 kernel on a VT-x processor. The problem is that broadcast arp who-has packets are not seen in Dom0 kernel. I''ve tried both precompiled debian kernel and compiled latest one from sources as described at http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2008-01/msg00699.html There is no linux bridge invoked,

Proxy arp and pptp
Hi all! I''ve set up a Linux box with shorewall doing proxy arp as per http://www.shorewall.net/shorewall_setup_guide.htm#ProxyARP the 5.2 (non routed) example. Everything is working great except for one thing, and that leads me to my question: is there a conflict between proxy arp and pptp? I''ve set the apropriate ACCEPT rules to allow tcp port 1723 and protocol 47 to the host

Please advise: sending out bogus gratuitous ARP packet from vna
I''ve implemented code to send out bogus gratuitous ARP packet from vna in order to fix CR 6701114. The webrev is at: http://jurassic.eng/net/consulte.prc/export/build/xvm-6701114/webrev Some backgroud information (see CR 6701114 for more detail): During live migration of an xVM domain from one dom0 to another, the VNIC will be moved from one switch port to another. [Bridge] ARP weirdness
All I have the following setup: 4 VLAN interfaces enslaved in a bridge interface. All VLAN interfaces don't have IP address. The bridge interface has 192.168.1.1/24. Now, when I try to ping from one of the VLAN interfaces, through a host connected to a VLAN switch, while dumping the traffic, the following happens: - Host sends ARP who-has broadcast to the VLAN interface (tagged correctly,

ARP resolution not done from one end
Folks, We have a setup where each mobile node connects with 1 or more tinc instances (over different links) to a central node. tinc is running in switch mode. The link is chosen by setting the IP address on the active link's interface, and the central node sees this after the first packet on the link, and moves the MAC address to a different 'ethernet port' (link). This works really

Incorrect source address in ARP request. Anyone seen this?
I''m using iproute2-ss010824 and a 2.4.20 kernel. Quite a subtle issue here, so I can imagine it has not been spotted before. The setup: I have set up a machine as a gateway. The ''external'' interface uses a dummy IP address (eg. 10.0.0.2) and the internal side is a normal address. (it''s more complex in real life using Zebra and such, but this is the basic

so many arp caches why?
Hello, all. When I execute arp -a -n, there are lots of arp caches like below. Surely, I set netmask and Broadcast without problem and routing table also no problem. System is CentOS release 4.7 i386. I know how to delete the arp cache, but I don't know why .. # ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:D1:E7:91:CC inet addr:192.168.195.36
