Puppetmaster with apache/passenger on SL6
Dear experts, Since I''ve moved my *puppetmaster* form SL5 (Scientific Linux) to SL6 with SELinux on, I''m facing loads of trouble. I also move away from WEBrick to apache/passenger, following the instruction here: http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/1/wiki/Using_Passenger > and I can''t start httpd any more. It fails with this: Starting httpd: (98)Address

Finding perl-MIME-Base64
I am told by yum localinstall that I need this for TinyCA2. When I search for it, it seems like it SHOULD be part of basic perl package, but it is hard to argue with yum on dependencies.....

TinyCA2 on rpmforge EL4 but not EL5
I want to install TinyCA2 on my Centos5 setup. I had a real learning experience the last time around (last year, July) and in the end, I got the repo down from Dag's site and was cool. Now I am on Centos 5 and no TinyCA2. Can I just download the EL4 rpm from: http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el4/en/i386/dag/repodata/repoview/tinyca2-0-0.7.5-2.el4.rf.html and do a yum localinstall ? Or do I have

modssl
I'm having some troubles getting modssl to work with wine. None of my programs that connect to the web via ssl work. I am using Red Hat 9.0, have both the modssl and modssl-devel rpms installed, yet they still don't work. I've tried both installing from source and using the redhat 9 rpms on the winehq.com website, and neither works. Any ideas? Jesse

Help setting up SSL?
Hi, Sorry to bother, I don't know if this mailing list is the right place to look for help setting up dovecot.. Anyway I've got standard IMAP working fine, and I used mkcert.sh after editing the openssl config, and it seemed to work properly (I had to change some directories, I am using the FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT port).. Anyway, when I try to connect using Outlook, here is what the log

selfsigned ssl certificate
Hello, I need to setup a secure ssl site but I'm using a FC3 howto wich is not compatibel anymore wwith Centos 4.2 Now I removed the standard crt.key and server.key files and used the make testcert script in /etc/httpd/conf to create a new one with the appropriate company name and such. But this certificate requires a passphrase everytime apache starts and I rather would like to remove

Server CommonName mismatch: localhost.localdomain
Hello, I have seen via google that this very problem was already discussed on this and other lists some months ago, but the archives report no solution. I have dovecot 1.0-0_12.beta8 on Centos 4.3. IMAP works just fine: I can read email from both Squirrelmail via web and Kmail. Now I have created an ssl certificate and I'm trying to use it via pop3. When I launch fetchmail I get the error

Compile vs. RPM
Hello CentOS, I'm an old hat, and have been compiling my own MySQL, Apache, PHP, OpenSSL, ModSSL, etc. for my webservers for years. I'm playing around with the RPM installs on CentOS, and have basically been able to get most things setup so that they "function" about the same. If I could stick to RPM's rather than compiling my own sources, it would save me a fair bit of

Problem with dovecot on home LAN
At present I get email directly on my laptop in /var/spool/mail/* through uucp. I'd like to get the email in the same directory on my desktop (alfred), and then run a mail server on the destop and collect the email on my laptop (william) (or on other computers on my two little home LANs, ethernet and WiFi). I was advised that dovecot was a good imap server for this purpose (I tried

Dovecot IMAPS : Thunderbird SSL cert issue / Evolution OK
Hello, This is a selfsigned cert. Both of the below methods were used. May I ask for 1. pointer to info setting up "intermediate certs" and where the certfile goes? The objective is to generate a self-signed cert and use it for just internal use with IMAPS dovecot. Separately, what are your thoughts as to why evolution works and thunderbird does not? Thank you, ==1 openssl

fetchmail can't talk to dovecot
Hello, I have dovecot q1.0-0_22.rc7 up and running on a server: I can read email from squirrelmail just fine. When I try to download email with fetchmail, however, I get the result below. Why is that happening? In dovecot.conf I have: protocols = imap imaps pop3, so why should pop3 or imap fail? Where should I look? (I'll fix the certificates problem after I've managed to get in
