Rails Deployment Using Passenger (Problems)
Hello, I have been trying to deploy my Rails application using Passenger on my local machine that runs Mac OS X Tiger. I saw the screencast by Ryan Bates and also referred to benr75[http://benr75.com/articles/ 2008/04/12/setup-mod_rails-phusion-mac-os-x-leopard] for specific instructions for Mac (but they are for leopard). Right now if I go to http://localhost all I get is "It Works!".

Deploying with Passenger question
Hi, I followed the instructions for deploying a site with Passenger from the screencast that is on the Phusion Passenger site and it didn''t work. I am using Dreamhost to host my site- could the problem be on their end? Someone suggested that I do: passenger-install-apache2-module on my command line but I already did that when I first installed Passenger and the Passenger Pref pane

AJAX truncated response on Phusion Passenger v3.0.17 on CentOS v6.x
Our application deployed on Phusion Passenger version 3.0.17 server on CentOS 6.x box makes a AJAX call which returns a large response ranging from 1MBs to 8 MBs. It works fine a lot of time but we have seen truncated response from the server inconsistently. Its breaks are different places for the same response and is not because of escape characters. The server doesn''t break or

Ubuntu 12.10 Nginx Rails 3.2.13. Deploy in sub URI. Nothing happens!
Dear friends, I followed the guide on http://techoctave.com/c7/posts/16-how-to-host-a-rails-app-with-phusion-passenger-for-nginx and successfully deployed two apps on the same web server, some months ago. Then when I upgraded to Rails 2.3.13.rc1 everything seems to be OK, but when I visit my app with the browser all that I get is the Welcome page from Nginx. Here is my nginx.conf:

Revisiting deployment on a dedicated server
I''m in the midst of a few new Rails deployments as well as being tasked to revise an existing older deployment to help improve performance. So, I''m wondering what sort of setup is preferable these days for a dedicated server? The basics I''m aiming to start with are the latest CentOS/RHEL, PostgreSQL, Ruby 2.x, Rails and Apache. Is Passenger still the way to go these

Crashing after Update
Hello All! I''ve been running Rails 2.0.2 with Ruby 1.8.6 for the last six months. I developed an application that runs fine on two different servers -- or at least, it used to. I used Mongrel as a development server, but requirements called for using Apache for a production deployment. I found Phusion Passenger (mod_rails) and decided to give it a try. I decided to update my rubygems

Nginx + Phusion Passenger 3 problem with "504 Gateway time-out"
Hi, I have a Rails 3.2 app. There is a specific request that takes a long time to execute. The context is, the user uploads a pdf, and then we have some processing through carrierwave + rmagick that generate a jpeg from the first page of the document. Everything works in dev mode using both webrick and thin. The problem happens on the prod environment with Nginx + Passenger. The request takes a
