Your best options is : Use ADS, with backend RID.
If you have 1 DC and (or 1 extra member server )
than RID is you best option, no hassle uid/gid and RFC2307 things..
but beware if you do things on linux.. than you can

(SOLVED ) you have been logged on with a temporary profile_win7, client+samba 4+WinServ2012
Hi
I got help from someone in the #Samba channel. It turned out that
my Samba Server (JIMMY) was not resolving. DNS was not aware of him.
So the suggestion was to use the "netbios name = JIMMY" in my smb.conf and
in the user's "profile tab" enter the path using jimmy's IP.
\\IP\disk1\profs
That did the trick. Thank you everyone for your time and help.
Many thanks

Hi
Yes you are right it is a workaround but the reason is not resolvable at
the moment is because Samba server is not registered in our DNS yet. I
believe once a DNS entry is created, I will be able to use the name
instead of the IP in the user's profile path.

Don''t Shout at your JBODs

I wonder if the inverse is true. If I whisper soothing
words of encouragement at my JBODs, will I get
more IOPS with reduced latency?

Hello Samba
I have been trying to fix the problem below for several days with no
success and I can't understand why.
Please help me if you can.
I've got a windows server 2012 running AD and I want to store the user
profiles in a Samba filestore server called "Jimmy". Jimmy has the
following smb.conf:
[global]
server string = Samba4 file server
workgroup = TESTAD

How to write the output of a function into a file?
I cannot find the solutions in the mannual about "import and export of data".
For example, I run
>chisq.test(x,p=probs)
chi-squared.....
.........
How can I write the output into a file? Is there some file operations in R?
Actually, I only want to save the P-value. But I don''t know how I can extract the P-value field only from the output
of chisq.test. So, I think I

Failed to join domain: failed to find DC for administrator@XYZ
Hello everyone
I had samba 4.1 working as a member server to a windows 2012 AD in a
test environment for a while now until I had to re-install the windows
server from scratch. I have the new AD setup with the same NETBIOS name
but now I have problems re-joining the samba box to the new AD. It looks
like a DNS issue but I am unable to understand why. After the
ire-install, I got a new Kerberos

I am trying to figure out how to customize the error messages when I use
validates_presence_of. I am validating a user name and I use <%=

you can customize in the model with :message =>''custom message'', but I
am trying to get rid of the first part of the error message which is,

Windows10+samba share: The remote computer isn’t responding to connections on port 445
Hello everyone
I am having an issue with one particular windows 10 PC not being able to
map a samba share. When I map the network drive:*\\hostname\share* the
window prompt to login pops up. I enter the correct username and
password and after a minute I get this error:
*The network path was not found. 0x80070035*. Looking at the windows 10
logs, I can see this message:

No they have no profilePath attribute sets up, they have however a
base directory set up by default as you can see on the link below.

strange apparently data-dependent crash with large data (PR#6955)
I'm consistently seeing R crash with a particular large data set. What's
strange is that although the crash seems related to running out of memory,
I'm unable to construct a pseudo-random data set of the same size that also
causes the crash. Further adding to the strangeness is that the crash only
happens if the dataset goes through a save()/load() cycle -- without that,

Number of Clusters
Dear R users, I am interested in clustering in R. In SAS we have some criteria for determining the number of clusters using the PROC CLUSTER procedure, which are "CCC" cubic clustering criterion (Sarl 1981), Psuedo F (PSF), and Psuedo T square (PST). My question is do thsese criterion exists in R, I tried to search and got one hit (BIC) in Mclust, which I am aware of, any input is

[LLVMdev] Bug in x86 JIT fast emitter.
Hi there,
I think I've found a bug in the x86 JIT. I get an assertion failure when
using thread-local variables and the fast emitter.
It only happens with the JIT, the fast emiiter and thread-locals.
(The IR passes the verifier)
Here's the failure:
X86CodeEmitter.cpp:516: void<unnamed>::Emitter::emitInstruction(const
llvm::MachineInstr&, const llvm::TargetInstrDesc*):

[LLVMdev] ADDE on HW that doesn't have flags?
The language I'm targeting doesn't have flags; I'd like to implement
ADDE as a macro or psuedo-instruction that takes 3 parameters and
returns 2.
In my InstrInfo.td file, tablegen complains if I try to define
multiple return values; adde is defined in TargetSelectionDAG.td to be
a binary op that takes an extra flag in and sends an extra flag out.
I tried to custom lower ADDE

Ok, my bad..
The if you use policies.. check you gpo settings for :
Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ System \ User Profiles
- Delete cached copies of roaming profiles
- Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart
and/or read :
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/983544
which may apply.
and you dont have any script running for cleanup

A pseudo instruction is used internally without llvm, but it does not correspond directly to a real instruction in the target architecture. Before emitting the final compiled code, all the pseudo instructions must be expanded to real instructions. If you're seeing that error, it means that

Extract psuedo model matrix from nls?
Hi R-list,
I'd like to extract the psuedo model matrix (derivative of fitted values
wrt the parameters) from an nls object.
Any suggestions?
