Missing data (Na) and chi-square tests
Dear everyone
I am a bit of a computer imbecile and are having problems with R.
I am using R in my research project to do chi-square tests on data imported
from excel .
However I have som missing data in one of my variables (columns) and I need
R to "exclude" these and make chi-square test on the data that I have.
I use a formula to make 2x2 tables which is:

movie3d function in the rgl package
Dear list,
I'm using the function "movie3d" in the package "rgl" to create a .gif
animation of a 3d graphic. The program "ImageMagik" is working
properly, R packages are working, basic examples available in the
manual also working fine.
Problem Solved: when I tried to create more complex movies, i.e.
combining different views and zooming, the R-console crashed

"Lazy" image resizing?
I''m looking at Dragonfly, which seems to offer what I''m looking for in
this area: the ability to upload an image, then later request that
image at a different geometry, and either get a cached copy of that
resized image, or create and cache that image.
Can anyone point me to alternatives? Is this something that can be
added to Paperclip? I''ve only ever used

link Explorer Shell extensions to Gnome thumbnailer
Programs with special uncommon file formats (not jpg) often register a shell extension in Explorer that offers thumbnails for these files (since the files otherwise wouldn't have previews).
When I trigger in a Wine application (eg. SketchUp) the File Open dialog, I can see previews of the files (skp files) in the preview panel. This means the shell extension does work in Wine. The Shell

Resizing images and creating thumbnails
Hi,
1. How to resize an image uploaded by a web form before saving it to the
disk? (i need all uploaded images to have similar size)
2. How to create thumbnails? Is it enough if i specify small size of the
image in html or would the image look horrible? Can i do it somehow in
''realtime'' using javascript? Or is it best to create thumbnail as a
separate file?
3. How to get

Image manipulation/resizing server-side?
I''d like to implement a system in a Rails app where I allow the user to
upload an image file, and then the app takes that image and manipulates
it, saving a thumbnail, small, and original size version of the file to
the server.
How would I go about doing that?
Thanks,
Jeff

resizing multiple images using getElementsByClassName
I am building a iPhoto like (Read rip-off) interface for thumbnails
and I am having a couple problems that I thought some one on the list
might be able to assist me on ...
first off here is the page: http://v4.incontrolsolutions.com/galltest/
I am no Javascript whizz and I am sure there is a FAR more efficient
way to do what I am trying. Having said that, the 2 things I was

Paperclip not executing FFMPEG properly
Im using a customs processor to run ffmpeg on a video to create a
thumbnail.
So far so good. Except when I do:
cmd = "-i #{@file.path} -f flv -s 320x240 ~/Downloads/foobar/q.flv"
success = Paperclip.run(''ffmpeg'', cmd)
Console is reporting:
ffmpeg ''-i /var/folders/uL/uL0bYOOZEZaJH5E+BmDJVE+++TI/-Tmp-/stream,

Using Paperclip::Processor and RMagick to sharpen my thumbnails
Hi, I''m brand new to RMagick (and pretty new to Rails for that
matter!). Right now, site owners are allowed to upload product and
ingredient photos to the website. Everything works great, ingredients
are sized down and proportioned correctly...the problem is that the
resulting images are so blurry! So I''ve been doing some research and
it looks like Paperclip::Processor may be the

RMagick=bad, ???=good
I know that Zed has made mention of the fact that using RMagick with
mongrel and rails is a bad thing. I''m currently using FlexImage (which
in turn uses RMagick) on my application and really haven''t had too
many problems. We get a restart for memory usage every 8-10 hours on
one mongrel of twelve running, but I''m not sure if that''s an RMagick
issue. Either way,

Dynamic image resizing and caching
I''m working on an image system that does rescaling and effects on
demand, rather than on upload. The uploads are stored as master files,
and resized images are generated, cached and returned by a controller,
using a request similar to this:
/images/21/150x100/filename.jpg (where 21 is the image id)
I also have various filters implemented, adding the concept of filter
sets (which is

Cleanly handling sub-generatede files with Paperclip
Hi,
Let''s say I upload a pdf file. Imagemagick extracts all pages out of it
and stores the png images on the hard-drive. How to easily handle all
these generated files with Paperclip?
Has anyone done that before? Thanks for your advice

delay displaying rmagick resizing of uploaded images
Hi,
I am using rmagick to resize a copy of uploaded images and display the
copy as a thumbnail. Once the upload is processed it redirects the user
to a page that should display the thumbnail to the user. The problem is
that the rmagick resize function seems to keep going in the background
after handing the new images url (and control) back to rails, which then
happily renders the page with
