"mysql" 2.7.3 gem install for Windows appears incomplete
When I install the 2.7.3 "mysql" gem on Windows XP (trying to prepare
for the requirement to use the mysql gem in Rails 2.2.2) by using:
gem install mysql
I get a mysql-2.7.3-x86-mswin32 directory under gems, but underneath
that, only a docs directory, an ext directory, and README, Rakefile and
.require_paths.
I then cannot do any connecting to my MySQL databases.

"sudo gem install rails" not able to install thin dependency
Hi folks,
I''m having trouble getting gems to install rails. It just keeps asking
me which version of thin I want to install. Until I choose skip or
cancel, in which case I''m told that something has gone wrong.
Any advice?
Thanks kindly,
Tommy

rake db:create fails
Hello folks,
I´m here trying to find the way to solve my problem.
When i try to run
rake db:create or rake db:create:all
the process stops and the databases are not created.
I change the directives, putting --trace before the rake db:create and
the steps are
C:\appws\cookbook>rake db:create --trace
(in C:/appws/cookbook)
** Invoke db:create (first_time)
** Invoke db:load_config (first_time)

How to find/open Spec::Expectations and Spec::Matchers
Hi,
Then RSpec 1.4 recommends, in the webpage http://rspec.info/documentation/expectations.html,
referencing the subject items.
I''m running ruby 1.8.6 (2007-09-24 patchlevel 111) [i386-mswin32] over
WinXP-Pro/SP2.
I believe I installed RSpec with a Ruby gem. At least, I think that''s
confirmed because I have a lot of stuff in the directory K:\_Utilities

Problems 4.2 installing on Windows?
I keep an old Windows machine around for making sure that RedCloth
Win32 binary gems install. When I try gem update RedCloth, it just
installs 4.1.9. Did I do something wrong in the gemspec? Would
someone else with a windows machine try it and let me know how it goes?

Brand new to rails: can't get databases to work
Just starting to learn rails. All is going well, until I tried to hook
up a database.
"undefined method `model'' for ZingerController:Class" is the message I
get from the server.
I imagine I''ve left something out that is keeping me from connecting
to the database, but I''m not exactly sure what.
Your help is appreciated.

versioning of win32 versus ruby gems
I know we already mentioned this before on the list but I couldn''t
find it in the archives. Is there a way to differentiate the versions
for ruby/mswin32 so that I could run a command like:
# sudo gem install mongrel
--source=http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/releases/ --include-dependencies
--version 1.0
and have it not prompt me like this:
