When I set mrouted or pimd on one router, everything works fine, but when I start mrouted/pimd on another one, routing die. I have a Debian 8 64-bit machine set up as a server and apt-got the tinc package. I configured tinc as a bridge and everything seems normal except that the tunnel does not forward multicast traffic. How do the Multicast routers sniff IGMP/MLD messages from the network? I checked the XORP, pimd etc. Most of them just open a RAW socket with protocol set to IPPROTO_IGMP.
