Big problem :(((((
Hello!
I have an internet connection of 64kbps garanteed in a channel of 256kbps. On this connection the metropolitan speed is 10Mbps and in the provider''s network the speed is 100Mbps.
I have a few clients behind my linux box and i want to set up some limitations because some of them are using it irrational.
I am marking the packets with 0 for internet; 1 for metropolitan 2 for

HTB prio question
Hi all. I have a bridge running Linux 2.4.24 that I use as a
bandwidth manager on a broadband wireless network. I''m using HTB and
SFQ to prioritize that share bandwidth on a per-cell basis. My IP
tables rules divide the traffic based on IPand traffic type (using
layer-7 filter and ipp2p). My goal is to make sure that p2p traffic
on the network doesn''t sink all of the

Warnings with and without r2q
Hi everyone,
My HTB script is showing me those "r2q change" warnings. I read that I
should test with r2q values to gain accuracy and stop the warnings but I
made some tests with r2q and with burst and I still get the warnings. Any
ideas on this issue will be very helpful. The script seems to be working as
the bandwidth for the IPs is being shaped.
The NIC works at 100mbit and the

HTB
Hello,
I have problems with htb. The problem is that when I download
any file via shaper with htb, the traffic is very dinamic,
it jumps, for example:
if i have set ceil = 128kbit the results that it jumps from 112kbps
to 144kbps or smth like that maybe its not very bad, but when the
traffic drops down to 40kbps or less and then after 1 or 2 seconds
jumps to 144kbps, its bad :-( and it is often.

Traffic Shaping multiple incoming broadband sources?
Hi, complete newb and I apologise for it.
I have a setup where my linux box has multiple broadband connection where I am routing certain things over certain interfaces, currently 2 links eth2 is a 1500/256 and eth3 is a 512/512, eth0 is the link to the LAN for users. What I am trying to do is traffic shape the information going out eth0 to the local users by the interface the traffic arrived

HTB problem running on VLAN, not working
Hello.
I''m running linux box with Slackware 9.1 and compiled kernel 2.4.31 with "yes" to VLANs and "yes" to all QoS.
On this box i have more ethernet interfaces:
eth0
eth1
eth2
and so as more vlan interfaces:
eth0.100
eth1.3
eth1.4
This is entrace(uplink) router to our whole network and my goal is to shape users on this machine.
I want for this purpose use HTB so

couldn''t get available bandwith
Hello all.
We have three tunnels over the internet between our "central" gateway and
some branch office gateway.
Each gateway has eth0 on its LAN an eth1 on the internet. We use DSL lines
and eth1''s have the internet IP directly attached on it. Each gateway, also,
acts as iptables NAT gateway.
The outgoing bandwith is 300 kbit, and we tried this (i.e.) on each tunnel:

why isn''t 1:1 getting the traffic? [filter question]
With the below script, whenever I ping 10.0.16.10 (which matches the
only filter I have), traffic still get''s sent to the default 1:2 class
instead of 1:1 and I don''t know why... Any hints?

Packet Loss !!
We have been using HTB for last 10-11 months without any problem. But from last few days we have been facing huge packet loss when we turn on traffic shaping using HTB. I upgraded to 2.4.24 kernel (without any htb patch), still there is same problem.
Avg. traffic is around 2Mbps and 4Mbps at peak hours. There are around 110 HTB classes and SFQ attached to each class.
We are using 4 port Tulip
