Error: "ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken"
Hi there,
I have my first Rails app running and I regularly get the following
"logged_exception" error message:
"ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken"
Has anybody an idea what might cause this problem? Could it somehow be a
"time out" error (like an "AuthenticityToken" which might expire after a
certain time, or something along those lines)?

Help with authentication errors
Hello,
I have been working through two books, "Agile Web Development with
Rails, 2nd Ed." and "Ajax on Rails". I''m using Rails2.0. In both cases,
I run into an authentication error when doing the examples. In AWDwR,
when trying to add new information to the database (p. 68) I get

rspec-rails how to selectively turn on csrf protection for controller specs?
I''m setting up a Paypal IPN listener and need the create action to not
use rails'' default CSRF protection.
I''ve got that working fine & test it actually works with cucumber
(where I''ve turned CSRF back on, since it''s full-stack testing) but
would like my controller spec to mention the need for

[HELP]No :secret given to the #protect_from_forgery call
I am starting to BDD. When specing the controller I want to test for
object creation:

Usuario.should_receive(:create).with({:nombre => "camilo", :clave
=> "secreta", :tipo => "administrador"}).and_return(@usuario)

protect_from_forgery doesnt protect from forgery
Maybe I am grasping the full usage of this protect_from_forgery
function, but it does not seem to work for me. Imagine the following:
A simple website with a user that needs to log in to do certain stuff
and a closed off admin section that only certain users can access that
have the is_admin field set to true.
So to be clear, my User model has a login, password and is_admin.

forgery protection for multiple browser tabs
Hi,
http://apidock.com/rails/ActionController/RequestForgeryProtection only
maintains one CSRF token at a time. When a user visits some site, he gets a
new token in the session. He then might open a linked site of the same
rails app in a new browser tab (maybe some info he''d like to read), and
again he will get a new token. Then he changes to the first tab again and
submits a form

Catching Exceptions in ActionController
I''d like to be able to catch ActionController::MissingTemplate
exceptions from within ActionControlle, *but*, MissingTemplate isn''t
defined within my controllers!!!
How is that possible - after all, all controller subclass
ActionController, so how are exceptions it defines not there!?
More importantly, how can I do this?

expire_fragment outside of a controller
I am trying to figure out a way to call the
expire_fragment outside of a controller. I need to
expire some fragments on a hourly basis. I have a
Thread that every hour that will perform a task. The
expire_fragment is located in the module
ActionController::Caching::Fragments as an instance
method.
Do I need to mixin the model
ActionController::Caching::Fragments into my class?
Or is there

cookies are mandatory for Rails app?
is it true that Rails depend on cookies? It seems that flash is a part
of session, and session uses cookies... so when i disable cookie in
Firefox, what was working became
ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken
so is it true that for a RoR app to work, cookies are mandatory?

Handling Erros from AWDWR
I''m getting to the point now where I really need to start trapping the
errors.
So from my AWDWR book, I added the following directly from the book into
application.rb...
def rescue_action_in_public(exception)
case exception
when ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound, ActionController::UnknownAction
render(:file => "#{RAILS_ROOT}/public/404.html",

rescue_action_in_public question
I''m using the rescue_action_in_public example from the Agile book to
handle errors and email serious ones to me. In my application.rb
controller:
def rescue_action_in_public(exception)

case exception
when ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound, ActionController::RoutingError,

ActionController::UnknownHttpMethod: ***, accepted HTTP methods are get, head, put, post, delete, and options
I''m occasionally getting exception notices with this error message:

Anyone ever seen this or know what could be causing it?
Thanks,

trouble expiring cached pages
I''m having a bear of a time getting my cached pages to expire. Maybe
one of you guys can help me out. I''ll show my sweeper and then my log
to show that it "should" be working.

Rails3 pre and protect_from_forgery
I''ve almost entirely converted a rails 2.3.5 app to 3pre. I''m having
some trouble with protect_from_forgery. I had protect_from_forgery set
in application_controller.rb, but run some uploadify ajax stuff in one
of my controllers, where I had protect_from_forgery, :except
=> :add_file set.
In rails 3 I''m getting ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken on

Expiring cached actions outside of ActionController
In the site I''m building, my models are *almost* never updated within
ActionController-- all new data comes in via command line scripts
manipulating ActiveRecord directly.
Can anyone offer any hints about expiring cached actions without Sweeper?
