Question: TEQL via gateway
Yesterday I posted a question, but I guess too much detail is provided
that no one would bother to read, so I rephrase the question and
hopefully some one may be willing to read. Sorry to spam.
I am using TEQL on two computers, each with two network interfaces. The
two eth0 are connected directly, and the two eth1 are connected via a
gateway (a linux machine). The problem is that when I send

help with route on centos
I have 2 machines running centos. each machine has 2 network cards.
Box 1:
eth1: T1 connection 74.X.X.X
eth0: office connection 192.X.X.X
Box 2:
eth1: Cable modem 24.X.X.X
eth0: office connection 192.X.X.X
How do I issue a route command on each box so it will use
eth0 as the shortest route between the two boxes???
Thanks,
Jerry

routing in xen 3.0: icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially
Hello folks,
I have this really strange routing problem that no amount of
googling and experimenting has been able to solve. Then again,
I''m new to Xen and "advanced" networking, so I could be missing
something very basic.
Summary: an unprivileged domU with PCI frontend for a NIC

tinc config(?) problems
I'm having a bit of a problem getting tinc up and running between a pair of
RedHat (one 6.0, the other 6.1) boxes. It's installed and configured to the
point where they can connect, but I'm not seeing any traffic passing
between the two systems.
System A looks like -

TEQL and Subnet problem (reformatted)
TEQL and Subnet problem
I have a network topology shown below, and I am trying to use TEQL. P1,
P2 and P3 are three linux machines, and each has two network cards. P2
and P3 are connected in two ways: (1) directed connection between
P2.eth0 and P3.eth0; (2) connection via P1. P1 acts as the gateway. TEQL
is installed on P2 and P3 to load-balance packet transmission by
round-robin sending packets

Routing problem
Hi,
I'm building a firewall/router on Centos. I'm using Shorewall but have
currently stopped and cleared the firewall rules to isolate the routing
problem.
My firewall box has 5 interfaces in it but currently only two are involved
in the problem.

Networking problems with fresh install
I just did a fresh install of centos 5.0 from cd, followed by yum update
which installed 399 packages. No failures or errors that I can see.
I have three nics in the box, but am only setting up one at the moment.
The box can ping others in my network, but if I try ssh, telnet, ftp, etc
I get this:
[root at cm network-scripts]# ftp watchdog
ftp: connect: No route to host

I try to setup networking with a fresh CENTOS4.4 installation. Upto now
I have 20 installations, most of them FC3/FC4 and RHEL3.
I noticed that the default gateway is not setup properly when using Centos.

strange network problem
Hi,
I am trying to fix a problem I have for about a week now.
The environment is:
--several independent servers with Centos5.4 on the latest patchlevel
(example will be server2) All of them are working properly.
--a machine with Xen installed to host some virtual machines
(xenserver1)
--domu servers on xenserver1 (crmserver1, winserver1)
The whole network is connected with a Lancom router to a

Network routes
I am unable to ping NE.TW.RKB.IP1 from an outside network. Other machines
which do not have access or routes for NET.WOR.KA.0 respond just fine.
How do I get it to respond on both NET.WOR.KA.0 and NE.TW.RKB.0 given all
default traffic should go through NET.WOR.KA.1 unless it is in reply to
traffic from NE.TW.RKB.1 or there is an outage.

TEQL and Subnet problem
I have a network topology shown below, and I am trying to use TEQL. My
problem is: When I ping to P3.teql0 from P2 ("[P2]# ping 16.119.144.66"),
the traffic can never go from P2.eth1, and all traffic only goes to
P1.eth0. What P2.eth1 (16.119.144.33) did is broadcasting an ARP asking
for the MAC address of 16.119.144.66, although I have specified the route

Situation:

one computer sends echo packets to another domU on another computer,
server sends echoes back. They do this on a specified port (will use any

various environments, Linux and Solaris. Program just hangs on the domUs.

I been trying on ip rule fwmark and iptables MARK.
I will show my testing in detail, but my ultimate question is why ONLY marking in Mangle OUTPUT tables works, but not others?

Dual Redundant Network routing [Question]
Greetings,
I have a routing problem I am hoping can be solved.
I have three networks. A Private network, and a dual network the private
network connects too. The internal network talks through a
gateway/router(linux redhat 7.2) that has a default route set that allows
the internal network to talk to a computer on the external networks. The
external network is a Redundant network scheme in
