I have a matrix of spatial point patterns like the one below and want to find the number of independent components (if that's the right term) in that matrix (or in that image). x=matrix(c(0,1,0,0,0,

draganddrop mousemove event question
I''ve noticed that the update method of every Draggable is called for each mousemove event while nothing is dragging. I''m wondering what the reasoning behind this is (vs. attaching the mousemove handler after a mousedown event). Does it have a noticeable performance impact when there are lots of draggables (say 400)? Disclaimer: I''m really new to JavaScript and may have

crash while building index
Hi, I''m trying to reindex a model (I''m using acts_as_ferret) after having added (via metaprogramming) a large number of fields (several hundred) to the index. It keeps crashing when trying to rebuild the index (the crash log is below, from ferret_server.out) but it only seems to crash on Linux (Ubuntu server 7.04, x86-64) whereas it''s fine on my OS X laptop

I want to get a different response depending on which part of an image I drop a draggable div object on. The context is creating an incident report form where injuries can be dragged onto a body sketch. I''ve tried this using the code below. However, the droppable is always

this <a href="http://www.wintercoats2010.com/north-face-jackets.htm" title="north face winter coats"><strong>north face winter coats</strong></a> is great. I took it on a backpacking trip the first time that I used it and not only was it lightweight, it was effective in blocking wind and keeping me warm during the cooler early morning and early evening
