New release RubyStack for Windows / includes git
Hi,
Just thought I would let the list know of a new release of RubyStack for
Windows, since there is a lot of overlap in functionality and may be of
interest to some of you also using OS X and Linux. Please let me know if
it is inappropriate.
Like InstantRails, RubyStack is an open source, self-contained
distribution of Ruby on Rails that is easy to install and use. It runs
on Windows, Linux and

Instant Rails replaced by the BitNami RubyStack
I no longer have the time to maintain and support Instant Rails, and there
will be no further releases.
However, Instant Rails is being replaced by the BitNami RubyStack, which you
can find here:
http://www.bitnami.com/stack/rubystack
The BitNami RubyStack ships with the following components (all fully
integrated):
- Ruby 1.8.6 patch level 111
- RubyGems 0.9.4
- Rails 1.2.5

Error running server: Exec format error - packet_worker_runner
Hi All, I''ve been developing a rails app using the Bitnami RailsStack (
http://bitnami.org/stack/rubystack) and it has always worked as advertised.
That is until I have tried to get BackgrounDRB up and running. I have
followed the steps given on the plugin''s project page, each seems to work. I
the plugin install works, I can generate workers etc, but when I start the

Unable to use wxruby-ruby19 in Ruby 1.9.1-p129 on Windows
Hello,
I''m using wxRuby as my favourite GUI toolkit with Ruby 1.9. But after I
updated my Ruby installation from Ruby 1.9.1-p0 to Ruby 1.9.1-p129, I
cannot do a require "wx" anymore. Every time I try I get an error that
says that Windows isn''t able to find some procedure. I have a German

lang/ruby19: ruby-1.9.3.392,1 is vulnerable: ** [check-vulnerable] Error code 1
I try to compile port lang/ruby19 and I always get on a FreeBSD
9.1-STABLE box the following error message, which is obviously triggered
by some port auditing - but I do not find the "knob" to switch it off.
Can someone give a hint, please?
Regards,
Oliver

Nginx, Mongrel, Proxy and REMOTE_ADDR
I''m using a cluster of mongrels behind an apache 1.3 proxy pass. I''ve
been passing the request to pen, which in turn balances the cluster of
mongrels. Now, I''d like to be able to use a different server to send
the static files created by the rails application, so I tried to
replace pen with nginx. Everything seems to work fine except the
environment variable REMOTE_ADDR.

Permissions on nginx logs
Hi folks.
Just wondering if I can change the ownership on the nginx logs folder so I can access them easier for analysis on a regular basis and cronjobs.
/var/log/nginx is owned by nginx:nginx which shuts me out.
Cheers, Bee
