Newbie ADSL configuration, ppp0 can't activate & config not found
I am frustrated. This is a dual boot box, Win XP (Spanish) and CentOS 4.4. The phone company man came today and installed ADSL to the WinXP side and that works fine. I can't get the box online, while in CentOS 4.4. The ADSL router has a fixed IP address (192.168.1.1) and he configured it to get the IP from the ISP via DHCP and get the DNS servers automatically. When I try that on CentOS (which

ADSL ppp0, persist
Hello guys, I have two ISP's connected to my router. One via eth2, second one via ADSL modem, with ppoe doing on my Centos 5 . The problem I have is, that when ADSL fails , interface ppp0 is removed. This also removes my static routes configured for this interface. I do not want that, as I have load balancing configured and default route is removed when ppp0 interface disapears. This is my

aDSL on ppp0 and dialin ppp

My shorewall configuration Is based upon the fact

pppd + rp-pppoe: /sbin/ifup-local when ADSL re-up?
Hi all, I set up an ADSL connection using rp-pppoe/pppoe-setup. The setting is to persist the connection, so that when the link goes down, it's re-up'd by pppd. The interface is "ppp0" and it appears "/sbin/ifup-local" is not called when re-uppping the ADSL link. It is a problem for me, as I have some routing tables which get cleared from the routes "via

Multi ISP ppp0 and ppp1 switching
Hi, I currently connect to my ISP via my adsl modem in bridge mode and PPPoE. I am due to put a second PPPoE ISP onto my firewall box which will give me ppp0 (general) and ppp1 (static leased line). The static leased line will run a number of services on its static IP and it is therefore imperative to make sure rules defined for the static line are assigned to the correct interface. I need this to

Load Balance adsl connections: a complete explanation of my case...
I have a linux server running Mandrake 10, with the kernel configured with "CONFIG_IP_ADVANCED_ROUTER=y CONFIG_IP_MULTIPLE_TABLES=y CONFIG_IP_ROUTE_MULTIPATH=y" options, with 4 ethernet cards: - 2 ethernet used to connect to my lan (eth0=192.168.1.x and eth1=192.168.2.x) - 2 ethernet used to internet connection (2 adsl lines, both with 600/300 kbtis) The two lan are used to share

PPPoE/ADSL configuration questions.
I am building a CentOS 5 box to ship to Houston which will be a gateway system on an SBC DSL connection for a while until the client gets a T1 installed. I have read up on using adsl-setup and related software, but never done PPPoE on anything but LinkSys commodity boxes. I have examined the adsl-setup script, and I think I understand how this works, but want to be sure I understand things

First of all i wanna thanks Christoph Simon for the support. Only after his reply to my email i could see the real solution to the problem (Valeu mesmo cara... me ajudou pra caramba! Fico te devendo essa!) :) Here is what i learned in a month of research: I tried A LOT of things to do load balance, including the one at LARTC homepage. The only tutorial that REALLY works in my case is the

2 adsl links (same P-t-P) on the same machine
Hi... I have 2 ADSL lines (ppp0 and ppp1) on the same machine, and at first moment, I just want to make them both ping correctly from the internet. I already setup 2 links on the same machine, following the item 4.2.1 (split access) of the LARTC-HOWTO. I guess it was one dial-up link and one ADSL. But now, I have two ADSL lines, both from the same provider, and both lines use the same P-t-P

Qos wiht HTB for ADSL/Home
Hi, My home setup is as following: - 1024/128 kbit ADSL - FC3 I set up HTB to prioritize traffic. I am not very pleased with the obtained results. The scope of my setup is to have some ssh sessions with remote servers while browsing websites and running aMule Nothing complicated (I think... ;). The very high priority traffic (ssh), gets stuck when I start aMule and make an FTP download.
