Hi gang, Im having my first stab at ActionMailer and not having any luck. Perhaps someone could help me out. I generated a a mailer called ItemMailer - its purpose is to take some information that I''ve already gathered in a ToDo list form and to mail it out to the person who is nominated for the task In environment.rb I have; ActionMailer::Base.server_settings = { :address =>

mailer - from address not being set
I''m having a weird problem with a mailer model. The from address doesn''t seem to be set - my mail logs it shows that the sender address is the default www@my.server.hostname and this causes the mail to bounce. The mailer code looks like this: def thismail @subject = "Subject" @recipients = "toemail@address.com" @from =

Here is the irb session: >> p = Person.find(1) => Person data... >> SiteMailer.request_admin_approval(p) NoMethodError: undefined method `request_admin_approval'' for SiteMailer:Class >> SiteMailer.method_defined? :request_admin_approval => true The

ActionMailer undefined method `parameters' - Rails 2.1
Hello Rubyists, I''m currently trying to get email hooked up via ActionMailer, and while I''ve gotten it to work in the past on Rails 1.2.x, I''m seeing an error that I''m unfamiliar with. Right now, I''m just trying to send email from my dev box via the SMTP server at work. My development.rb file: #...snip config.action_mailer.delivery_method = :smtp

Ruby on Rails mailer
Today I made a first attempt to make use of ruby mailer. A volunteer fills out a form and the information is then sent to an administrator. I generated a mailer called notifier and added the following: class Notifier < ActionMailer::Base def volunteer_signup(volunteer, sent_at = Time.now) @subject = ''A new volunteer has signed up'' @body = { :title =>

list all emails from command line?
This is not strictly Dovecot question, but a more general IMAP one. I'm running a Dovecot server and have a user who is claiming that some email sent to him, say, on 30 May, showed up in his mailbox on 02 Jun. I've checked Postfix logs, and the message was correctly received on 30 May and passed to Dovecot. A similar issue happens every few days. This leaves me with two possibilities:

Prioritizing Mailer Queue / Action Mailer
Hi, I have different kinds of mails going out. For eg: 1. signup 2. notification mails etc I am using mailer queue to avoid mongrels waiting on email to be sent. However, it makes sense to have signup mails go instantaneously whereas other mails can go to mailer queue. Has anyone done such thing? Any suggestions please? action mailer not really sending emails
I am trying to get the action mailer to send out emails from my server (windows 2003). I configured it to the local smtp server and when I try sending to email boxes that are on the local domain, the emails go through. However, when I try sending emails to my gmail account, they won''t get through. It gives me no errors. As far as I can tell there are no firewalls on our server that

Devise generates Mailer by its own?
Rails 3.1.3 Hi. I''m a little confused with Devise and ActionMailer. It seems that Devise has its own way of sending mails through ActionMailer. Does it generate Mailer class when "rails g devise..." command is executed? Or do I need to do some special command in order to generate Mailer? I have certainly set up a devise User table but there is no Mailer class for it,
