Building Ruby on Solaris 10 with OpenSSL, for Rails... problem
Howdy. I''ve built Ruby, RubyGems, installed Rails and Oracle adapter, etc. However, when I try to start script/server, I get the following error: $ ruby script/server => Booting WEBrick... /opt/home/lsadmin/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-2.0.2/lib/ initializer.rb:159:in `require_frameworks'': no such file to load -- openssl (RuntimeError) /usr/local/ssl/bin/openssl

self Certificate Authority, using /etc/pki/tls/misc/CA
Hello all, lately i am facing problems with Certification Authorities. I have used centos script /etc/pki/tls/misc/CA my own certificate authority. In next steps i am generating requests for certificates to services such as LDAP,NNRPD and lately signing requests with CA. My approach is to import my own CA into Windows Vista OS as root CA and trusted, to avoid messages in clients such as

SSL CA root certificate
In reading through the mailing list, this question seems to have come up before, but never quite answered. I bought a certificate from Digital Signature Trust which is a well known certificate authority. The reason I bought my certificate, was so that email clients connecting to my imaps server wouldn't be bothered with warnings of unrecognized certificate authority as they would see with a

Proposal: Allow HostKeyAlias to be used in hostname check against certificate principal.
Howdy -- I have a number of servers with host keys validated by certificates. These systems are behind a load-balanced frontend, and the certificates are signed as valid for the DNS name used by that common frontend address. This works well for the primary use case of the systems; however, when wishing to address only a single unit within the pool, the certificate cannot be used to validate that

Suggestions for a plug and play CA certificate manager?
I have played with self-signed end-use PKI certificates for about a decade now and would really like to set up a proper, albeit private, PKI using some sort of OFS CA management software. I have looked at OpenCA and found a few packages on sourceforge but they all seem to fall short of my desires in one form or another (rpm install, multiple subordinate CAs, certificate revocation and extension

how to handle CA CRL updates with client certificate verification context ?
Hello, As far as I can read in the Dovecot SSL configuration wiki page, each CA cert must be followed by the related CA CRL in the client certificate verification context ("ssl_ca_file" setting). In my company we do have our own PKI and as soon as Client certificate is compromised we do revoke it and update the related CA's CRL. Does that mean that I have to issue a new

LDAP and CA certificates
Hi all, When configuring Samba against an LDAP server, it is possible to configure an SSL connection by using "ldap ssl = on" in the smb.conf file. Is there a way of telling Samba's LDAP code to ensure that the certificate presented by the LDAP server is signed by a specific CA? Regards, Graham --

IAX certificate-based authentication
Howdy! I'm still trying to make it onto the 1.4 releases. Almost ready to make the switch, but here's one last thing that doesn't seem to work: Server A calls Server B over IAX, i.e "Dial(IAX2/SrvB/${EXTEN},60)". Both machines are set up in iax.conf to use RSA certificate-based authentication. The public keys have been exchanged. This setup works just fine as long as Server

Hi , I am new to this puppet. I am implementing a network where my cisco switch will contact the puppet server for getting the configuration. I tried installing open source puppet and was successful in pushing down the configurations. I wanted then to try the same exercise with puppet enterprise 3.1. Samab - LDAP with root certificate
Hello, we want to authenticate a Samba 3.0.7 server (on Linux Red Hat Enterprise 3 with update 4) over a root certificate against a Novell LDAP server. We did not find something about this in the HOWTOS. With smbpasswd * w it is impossible, because the responsible LDAP department does not give us the root password. It's the sama as the global root password. :-) "ldapsearch" works
