How to customize the default scaffold?
I know the scaffold generator is really only useful for beginners
and/or very the preliminary state of a project, but I find that I use
it a lot (especially, since I am still a beginner). There are a
couple of things I find myself tweaking (or wanting to tweak, but
never getting around to tweaking) each time I generate a new scaffold:
1) Change the layout from blah.html.erb to

Nested resources form_for problem
Hi,
I have a resource map like this:
map.resources :users do |user|
user.resource :sreg10record
end
So a User is supposed to have (at most) one Sreg10record. The problem
is in the views. I tried following this tutorial:
http://www.akitaonrails.com/2007/12/12/rolling-with-rails-2-0-the-first-full-tutorial
which proposes something like:
<% form_for( [@user, @sreg10record] ) do |f|

map.resources for controllers in a module
Hello-
I''m giving RESTful development a shot. I''m running into some difficulty
with controller I have grouped into modules. Specifically, I have a
"admin" module with a "user" controller (created with "generate
controller admin/user"). I managed to get map.resources wired up with
this code:

Xen4CentOS: Unnecessary gpxe / ipxe obsoletes
I installed CentOS6 with the xen4centos set of packages; then I tried

Questions about XSA39
Hi Xen developers,
I had some questions regarding XSA39, and I hope you all can answer them.
We''ve been rolling out some hosts with the XSA39 patch applied and have
come across a problem where a few of our customer DomUs keep hitting the
conditions which call netbk_fatal_tx_err(), mostly "Frag is bigger than
frame." These specific DomUs hit it repeatedly, between once every

Step-by-step tutorial: Installing Xen 4.0.1 rpms on Fedora 13 with pvops Linux 2.6.32.x dom0 kernel
Hello,
I just wrote a step-by-step tutorial how to install the latest Xen 4.0.1 hypervisor
on Fedora 13 (x86_64) host from src.rpm packages, and the pvops dom0 kernel from git repository.
Check it out: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Fedora13Xen4Tutorial
It also shows how to install various Xen PV guests using the native distro installers:
- CentOS 5.5
- Fedora 13
- Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

RFC: ovirt-node ISO
As we prepare to push ovirt-node ISOs to ovirt.org while also working on
getting an ovirt-node spin into Fedora, there is some debate over
whether the version hosted on ovirt.org should use the minimizer
kickstart or not.
Main argument for including the minimizer kickstart:
Size. We're currently looking at something around 130MB for the ISO
with minimizer and probably around double that

When following the ONrails "Rolling on Ruby with Rails" tutorial part1 I
(already) encountered the first complication.
After doing those basic actions to set up the basic site, the tutorial
tells me to overwrite the "list" method included in the "scaffold
:recipe" method which we find in the recipe controller with this code:
def list
@recipes = recipe.find_all

Why would Webrick use 0.0.0.0:3000 instead of 127.0.0.1:3000 ?
Someone working through my Rolling with Ruby on Rails tutorial is having
this problem. Does anyone know what could cause it? I pasted the text of
his message below.
Thanks,
Curt

Ruby 1.8.2 and I ran the WEBrick server and it starts on

When it finally worked, after two weeks of trial and error (and we can''t
reproduce it again) it performs poorly under IIS. It looks

Weird Capistrano problem
I''m having problems launching the spin process via the deploy.rb task.
Everything works great when is run the script manually via:
% ssh admin@monterey.example.net /Web/Rails/Example/current/script/spin
However, when I run ''cap spinner'' or ''rake remote:exec ACTION=spinner'',
I get the following errors:
