RE: HOW TO COMBINE 2 DSL LINES IN THE SAME COMPUTER
J,
What i meant is...like in Linux you make use of the two external
connections and collate them as mentioned in the document. Can you try
keeping the Linux box in front of the two windowze boxen and collate the
two LAN connections coming from them as mentioned in the HOWTO???.

Can the mailing list archive be searched?
It says the list has been "picked up" by google, but I can''t find any
reference to "lartc". A search on "traffic control" and "advanced routing"
returned these groups;
comp.os.linux.networking
fr.comp.os.linux.configuration
hun.lists.mlf.linux
comp.os.linux.security

Questions regarding CONNMARK
Hi there, i have some questions regarding CONNMARK and STRING modules for
netfilter.
I have a stateful firewall doing contraking, because i have two dsl
connections doing load balancing. I have found a way to discriminate KaZaA
traffic flowing via port 80 from normal HTTP traffic using the string match.
I want to mark a kazaa connection and filter ir to a specific qdisc.
I have been looking

LARTC Wiki
Hi all,
Since the mail list receives a lot of repeated subjects (for example: "i
have two adsl lines..."), maybe these specific issues should be treated on
the LARTC Guide, or maybe if we had an wiki?
Is there a LARTC Wiki?
If not, what do you think about creating one?
Thanks

Re: Problems routing mail to particular interface
Is the 192.168.1.2 an ip on the router? If yes, you''ll have to mark in
OUTPUT, not PREROUTING, also, after you set up the rules and routes,
did you an
ip route flush cache
?
I hope these works

Is Linux based Router feasible

I''ve a local LAN consisting of about 150 machines. I''m using a Linux
machine as the gateway machine which inturn connects to two different

a hardware based routers provided by Cisco,... OR is my decision to go
for a Linux based solution is a wrong one?.
Is there so much difference between these

linux box as vlan p2p limiter and firewall?
re
I would like to do some firewalling and p2p shaping/limiting on one of
the vlans in my network and I was thinking of using linux box as
transparent bridged firewall/limiter. For this I''m planning to use AMD64
2.2Ghz box with 2 1gbit NIC (Broadcom 5721), that will be bridged. The
box must be totally transparent and unseen in the network, as well as it
should have much influence on

Increase connection tracking time??
Hi,
I have setup a Linux box similar to the load balanced method in the LARTC guide(conns: LAN,DMZ,ISP1,ISP2).
When running clients like Jabber/MSN it seems like the route gets lost in the table after a while.
What can I change to increase the "tracking" time in the tables??
Cheers,
Daniel.

Graphing tc output
Hi,
My HTB shaping is working perfectly, and i have setup a bridge and hosts
behind the bridge are now getting only the bandwidth they are supposed
to get. Thanks to every one here for helping me out :)
Now I am thinking of making a graph of traffic going through various
classes. Is their any thing readily available for it, or is parsing the
output if tc and passing it to rrdtool the

doubt about Load Balancing
Hello
In the LARCT how-to subitem: 4.2.2. Load balancing the following phrase
says:
"" Instead of choosing one of the two providers as your default route, you
now set up the default route to be a multipath route. In the default kernel
this will balance routes over the two providers. It is done as follows (once
more building on the example in the section on split-access):
