write.dna command
Hi all, I am learning R by "doing". And this is my first post. I want to use R: 1- to fetch a DNA sequence from a databank (see bellow) and 2- store it as FASTA file. The problem: neither an error is prompted nor the fasta file is created. Testing the code (see bellow), I notice that everything works until the *"write.dna" *command - which is not creating the fasta file.

predicted time length differs from survfit.coxph:
Hello All, Does anyone know why length(fit1$time) < length(fit2$n) in survfit.coxph output? Why is the predicted time length is not the same as the number of samples (n)? I tried: example(survfit.coxph). Thanks, parmee > fit2$n [1] 241 > fit2$time [1] 0 31 32 60 61 152 153 174 273 277 362 365 499 517 518 547 [17] 566 638 700 760 791

openldap - samba
I am having a problem getting users that were added in smbldap-useradd to be able to login. After I add them they are visible, but you can see I get this error - pdb_get_group_sid: Failed to find Unix account for test10 I believe that this has something to do with nss_ldap. because doing a getent passwd, it doesn't display any smb info. Any debugging info or help would be amazing, I'm

write.dna command
I suspect you meant WD <- "~/Documents/Scripting/R_Studio/Sequences/" but I am entirely unfamiliar with the packages you are using, and know nothing about what is on your hard drive. For future reference: A) Read the Posting Guide. This is a plain text email list, and your html formatting gets removed leaving a mess that is not always readable. B) Most frequent users of R

TCP window based shaping
I recalled a discussion of manipulating outgoing tcp windows in order to control return tcp traffic. I finally found at least some of that discussion in a thread with the subject above (of this message). But I thought someone announced an implementation and I don''t see it under this thread. If anyone else remembers or knows where I should look for it, please let me know. I''m

Memory leak with character arrays?
Hi - When I'm trying to read in a text file into a labeled character array, the memory stamp/footprint of R will exceed 4 gigs or more. I've seen this behavior on Mac OS X, Linux for AMD_64 and X86_64., and the R versions are 2.4, 2.4 and 2.2, respectively. So, it would seem that this is platform and R version independant. The file that I'm reading contains the upstream regions
