Undefined Method Angst After Rails / Ruby / Gem Updates
I have what appears to be a problem accessing methods from within an
application. I can access them from irb, but not from within the
app. In other words:
irb(main):001:0> require ''rubygems''
=> true
irb(main):002:0> require ''haml''
=> true
irb(main):003:0> Haml.respond_to?(''init_rails'')

I get this error if no relational data is present:
undefined method `notes'' for #<Array:0x226cc4c>
Here is the code that causes the error:

If I call this method through the script/console I get

I''ve tried out ''acts_as_taggable'', ''acts_as_taggable_on'' and
''acts_as_taggable_on_steroids'' and all of them output "undefined

I am following the guides precisely. Yet I can find no references to
this error anywhere, so I must be doing something wrong...

ActionView::TemplateError
Hi,
I have a strange problem that only occurs on the production server.
I''ve been banging my head for hours trying to figure it out with no
success. Below is a copy of the error from the production log.
ActionView::TemplateError (Expected /www/rails_apps/scanlan/current/
public/../config/../app/models/image.rb to define Image) on line #6 of
app/views/admin/design/_record.rhtml:

templates with same name before extension are cached
Hi all,
I was just wondering if this is the intended behavior. Here is my setup:
controller
def index
respond_to do |f|
f.xml { render :xml => true }
f.html { render :layout => :none }
end
end
In my views I have a file for each type
index.herb
index.xerb
The first request I send is cached and interferes with the other one.
For example, if I send an xml request

stubbing helper methods for View specs
Hi there
I have several view specs, that include the following snippet in
their "before" block to stub the methods by acts_as_authenticated

@u.should_receive(:name).and_return("Hans Muster")
template.should_receive(:logged_in?).and_return(true)
template.should_receive(:current_user).and_return(@u)

Overridding readonly attribute in custom form builder
Hi,
I''ve created a custom form builder and overridden text_area so that
all fields are readonly.
There are a few instances that I would want an editable text_area, so
I have tried to create an editable_text_area method.
I have tried passing text_area(method,
options.merge(:readonly=>false)) to the method, but it doesn''t work:
the area is still not editable. Any

custom form builder
In the API docs I found this:
"You can also build forms using a customized FormBuilder class. Subclass
FormBuilder and override or define some more helpers, then use your
custom builder "
I couldn''t find any further documentation on this. Where can I read more
about this formbuilder class? For starters, where would I define a
subclass of this class?
TIA,
Jeroen

this is a result of the migration of our app to rails3):
I have a partial which is rendered a few times (imagine tr''s in a

for a specific row (jQuery + ajax dataType: ''json'' and type: ''POST'')

Custom Form Builder Help
Hello All,
We use a different custom form builder for our app, but I wanted to
use facebooker''s typeahead widget in side the other form builder.
I don''t know much about form builders, but I created a file in lib/
doing this:
http://pastie.caboo.se/178776
It works great, except that the id''s and class names get messed up.
Instead of school_name, I get
