Rails with ireport
Hi all, since there isn''t good reporting for rails, I''m thinking to use
jasper report instead. Can anyone tell me how can I integrated them
together? especially how can I pass parameter from rails to jasper report.

(slightly OT) Reporting tools (Jasper, DataVision, etc.)
We''re evaluating reporting tools right now, both open source and closed.
I saw that a bunch of people on this list have considered Jasper/iReport
-- is this coincidence, or is this the best open source report writer
right now? The proprietary tool we''re comparing them to is Crystal
Reports. Reports will need to be editable by end users, and they''re

Displaying HTML code in view
Hi,
In my application i have the facility for the users to upload the file
which has code ...
And when i want to view the contents of the file uploaded in my view,in
case if the uploaded file is an html file then i am not able to display
the exact code...Instead the html content in that code gets executed.

Apostrophe display issue in view file.
Hi folks,
I have some user name with Apostrophe, where these names are displayed
in view files with some unwanted characters instead of Apostrophe.
For example,
Bottom''s Profile page is the original string and it is displaying in
browser like this.
Bottomn’s Profile page.
Can any one suggest how to overcome this, or how to identify this

flash-plugin-9.0.124.0-1 having problems since firefox-3.0.7-3.el4.centos
Updated yesterday to the latest firefox from CentOS, and now RPMforge
flash-plugin will only play a few seconds of video (such as CNN,
iReport, etc.) at a time before becoming stuck; dragging the slider
back a little allows it to play a bit further, but then it stops
again. YouTube plays the video without sticking, but has no sound.
glibc issues on el4 prevent upgrading to the newer flash-plugin

IE html help search engine terminates
I use Windows 2000 with Internet Explorer (5.5), R 1.4.0, ESS and emacs.
Internet Explorer frequently crashes upon using the search engine. The
machine says it is generating an error log, but I don't know how to access
it. Any thoughts?

blank ireports from jasper
hi all
i have successfully integrated jasper with my application but the
problem is that when i m generating reports thru it...its giving me a
blank rtf file......
if i write a xml file its giving me the xml data but the conversion of
xml to text is not taking place...
Is there a way to solve it
pls let me know

500.html not being returned to IE
When I access a "broken" page on my site, most browsers display my
500.html file found in the RAILS_ROOT/public folder. However, Internet
Explorer always shows its own default "The page cannot be displayed"
error rather than showing the custom page I made. It works fine in
Firefox, Safari, etc. Any suggestions?
I''m running rails 1.2.3 on mongrel+apache2.2.

IE HTML rendering problem with wine 0.9.8
Hi! I installed both wine-0.9.8 and wine-0.9.9 and winetools. I've
installed IE 6 using winetools and IE 6 starts just fine but doesn't
render any HTML pages, but instead displays a "HTML rendering is
currently disabled" message.

error_messages display in Internet Explorer (IE)
My form fields are inside a table; each field in its own <td> element.
When there is a validation error, the corresponding field gets
highligthed (with a box around the text box). This work perfectly on
Mozilla, but in IE, the browser fils the entire TD column with a
background color ie.. the highlights looks real messy. For example if

Display problem in IE
Hi,
I''m using the stylesheet from AWD book and i have the following display
problem in IE:

the entire width of main column.

Wine 0.9 - IE - OWA
Hi guys
Has anyone have any workarounds with Internet Explorer 6 not
displaying the mailbox on Outlook Web Access properly?
My specs: Wine 0.9 on FC4, IE6 installed using ies4linux
The problems (as I can see): the right-click context menu on the
mailbox doesn't work (it doesn't display anything) and the compose
email interface is missing the place where you can actually type your
mail
