Plugin refresh time
Hi there,
I''m currently developing a plugin to do authentication and
authorisation. In the init.rb file of the plugin I have this code:-
$:.unshift File.expand_path(File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__), ''lib''))
require ''open_advantage/authorisation''
ActionController::Base.send :include, OpenAdvantage::Authorisation
and this is the skeleton of my

service_cli.rb
Hi,
I just got done using win32/service to run a very small/hack-ish "Riki"
WEBrick service. Very cool stuff. Thanks.
So, in the process, I noticed a lot of the "control" start/install/etc.
command line parser stuff looked a bit boilerplate, so I pulled it out into
a helper function "service_cli" (for lack of a better name).
Its simple, but it allows me to do away

Fwd: [PATCH (geoip)] use IO.pread from the io-extra lib if possible
I sent this to the author of geoip a few days ago and haven''t heard
back, yet. Since he may be on vacation or busy, somebody may also hit
this problem in the mean time, I figured I''d post the patch + git
repo I sent him here.

[PATCH] ruby: Fix .new method (RHBZ#1046509).
The .new method was unintentionally broken in
commit 9466060201600db47016133d80af22eb38091a49.
This fixes the .new method and allows it to be called with multiple
parameters, so you can use:
Guestfs::Guestfs.new
Guestfs::Guestfs.new()
Guestfs::Guestfs.new(:close_on_exit => false)
etc.
For backwards compatibility, Guestfs::create may still be used.
This commit also adds regression

Re: Extract VHD using guestfs
Thanks a lot. I was trying to copy on local disk and guestfs_download ()
solved my problem.
Now I am trying to modify source code of guestfs_download () to extract
file in memory. Can you guide me what should i do to achieve that.

Array unshift and save to database
Hello,
I''ve noticed that I can''t save my object to the DB after using ''unshift''
on one of Array fileds. Ex:
(below ''tags'' is a collection in object ''transaction'')
transaction.tags.unshift(Tag.find_or_create_by_name(name))
transaction.save!
Everything is fine when I am using ''<<'' to append tag to

unit tests?
Ezra et al:
I have this problem:

Any progress on it? Or are unit tests simply impossible for now?

Urgent Request
Dear Colleagues,
Hope you will be fine. I am student of Ph.D and doing some work on distribution.
I developed a new distribution and having some problems in estimating their
parameters by MLE. I used R-program and used "maxLik" function (maxLik: A
Package for Maximum Likelihood Estimation in R) But there is some problem, it is
not estimated the parameters properly. I also write an

starting webrick from ruby (tar2rubyscript.rb)
I am using tar2rubyscript to package up a rails application and run it
as one file from the server.
If you run script/server and have lighttpd install it will start lighty
instead of webrick. So, thanks to Erik Veenstra''s suggestion, I add
ARGV.unshift("webrick") to the init.rb file to force webrick to start:
ARGV.unshift("webrick")
load "script/server"

RSpec stories introduction
I have played a bit with RSpec specs and now want to check out stories. I
note that there is no generator for rspec stories pre se (unless I managed
to miss all references to one ) and that the only directory relating to
stories added by installing rspec is ./stories itself.
The documentation at rspec.info seems to presume a great deal of prior
knowledge. What I am looking for is a guided tour

collection_select - prepending a "any" option
Say I have a normal <SELECT> tag being generated thusly:
<%= collection_select :task, :id, Task.find(:all), :id, :name %>
what is the easiest way to add a "ANY" option to the top of the option
list? I know Task.find(:all) returns a collection object, so is there
a unshift() for that?
well OK I tried:
Task.find(:all).unshift([:id=>0,
