CentOS 5 LiveCD better than the real one?
Folks,
I am terribly puzzled by an issue reported as bug 2381 [http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2381] ? definitely an upstream bug, as it does the same under X/OS 5 and StartCom 5.
Simply put: Hibernation fails with horrendous I/O errors after swsusp starts dumping to swap.
What bugs me is that hibernating from the CentOS 5 LiveCD *works*!!! (on the same hardware)
How could I investigate to

[Re: tcltk loading in R-2.2.1 from src]
Hi,
I believe configure was not finding tk.h, because tk-devel rpm was not
available on the given host. Thanks Erik and Peter for the suggestions
on checking tk.h and stdout of ./configure.
Just one further question for Peter>
"Well, the package is there, as a stub to tell you that it doesn't
work...."
So then how can you confirm from the library() output (or elsewhere) if

Spacewalk howto for CentOS 5
Hi,
I would like to contribute a howto page about the configuration of
Spacewalk for package management under CentOS 5. Spacewalk is the
upstream project for the source of RedHat Network Satellite. It provides
a management interface for software updates across registered servers
and desktops.
Here is were I would like to put this page:

Changing swap resume signature location
At boot time, the system is looking for a resume signature on the
default SWAP partition that was defined during the OS installation.
On several systems, I changed the location of the SWAP partition. How do
I change the location where the system looks at boot time for the resume
signature?
Thanks,

R-4.0.0 and Texlive 2020 installed on EmmabuntusDE4 (Debian Bullseye)
Hi Johannes,
Thank you for your comments. I run
sudo apt install -t bullseye-cran40 r-base
and have now the current R-4.0.0 in /usr/lib/R with links in the menus
and R-devel R-4.1.0 in ~/patrice/svn/R/r-devel/build. Perfect.
I used sid just to get the full Texlive 2020. I will probably not update
it for a while and have already removed (commented) the sid line in
sources.list as I do not

R 4.0 for ARM processors
2 years ago at one Meetup in Paris, Marc Girondot, professor at
University Paris-Saclay, presented his cluster built with 12 Odroid
(equivalent to Rapsberry Pi). The stack was almost the same size than
your picture as there was no fan and a narrower distance between each
PCB card. There were many more cables. For a total cost of less than
1000 ? and an electrical consumption reduced by a

logcheck.ignore issues
Hi,
I have been successful in the past using the logcheck.ignore file to not
have logcheck email me on certain logs syntax.
For example:
ntpd.*: exiting
My problem is with :
named*: lame server resolving
or
named*: lame server*
or
named*:*lame
in logcheck.ignore
I still get messages in email looking like:
