dia under CentOS7
I've added dia to my repo nux-dextop.
BTW LibreOffice Draw can be used as well (with the added bonus that it can also do Visio files AFAIK).

I just this minute downloaded and compiled dia-0.97.3-1.fc22.src.rpm from the Fedora 22 repo on Centos 7 and it appeared to work fine. And it took, literally, about a minute to do.
So you can do that too if you want.
There are six dia sub-packages also available there,

Thanks, I'll try that. If I may ask a small favour though, do you
have alink? I've Googled for the source RPM and can only find it on
third party websites; I'd prefer to go to Fedora directly if possible.
I notice that pkgs.org have a binary RPM, would that work or do you
advice pulling down the source and recompiling?
Thanks again,

Unable to POST after suspend
Hi,
I just tried the live CD for CentOS 5.0 on a desktop computer and
decided to see if suspend worked. It seems it did, but I'm unable to
start the machine again.
It's a DIY system with an Asus K8V-X motherboard[1], an AMD Clawhammer
3200+ and 1 GB of Kingston ECC RAM. The system has been perfectly stable
despite being utterly abused on a daily basis for almost 3 years.
I've tried:

Could someone possibly clarify the relationship between these 2
programs? I am in a situation where I am developing for an embedded
system, and I need to rewrite my CMOS before I actually boot into linux.

I was hoping that I could script their use in autoexec.bat or somewhere

ImageMagick : Centos GUI ?
I accidentally discovered 'convert'. It is a command line utility.
Changing a file from png to gif works like this
convert aaa.png aaa.gif
Amazingly simple, powerful and effective.
I've since discovered it has an amazing list of options
convert --help
a manual
file:///usr/share/doc/ImageMagick-6.2.8/www/convert.html
and a web site

Using an image background with graphics
I would like to use a map or aerial photo as a background to plotting
solid lines and text, and semi-transparent color contours, in base and
lattice graphics. Plot coordinates need to be consistent with the
georeferenced background. For example, a color contour plot would have
an gray-toned aerial photograph as a background for overprinted
semi-transparent color contours of some spatially

Aligning aerial photographs and maps
I have read in Paul Murrell's book R Graphics about how to use a bitmap
as background for a plot (page 107). Also, I routinely use function
read.shape() in package maptools to read maps in shapefile format. Now,
I would like to overlay an aerial photograph in .jpg format and a map. I
think I could do the alignment manually for each case, but wonder if
there is a better, automated way. I notice

NTP strangeness...
Hi Marco,
As far i can see here.
Are all your ADDC servers set to the same source NTP ( preffered a stratum 1 or 2 ) server. ( and not pool ntp sources )
Because below i see stratum 4 and stratum 3 servers and a timeout on one server.
When i look at this.

Timezone confusion: net time \\server ...
Hi list,
I am a bit confused how the time sync between samba and windows should
be done correctly.
On the samba server I have set the CMOS time to GMT (UTC) and my
timezone is UTC+2 (germany). On windows the CMOS time is set to my
timezone (windows can't handle UTC, did that change? XP here, but
dualboot to linux) and as I issue net time \\server /set /YES it sets
the time but minus one
