form_remote_tag :onsubmit not working.
Hi,
Has anyone successfully implemented the :onsubmit option for
form_remote_tag. It doesn''t seem to work for me. Is there any specific
version of rails which is required for the same.
Here''s my piece of code.
<script>
function set_tojid(){
alert(''onsubmit'');
}
</script>
<%= form_remote_tag :update => '''', :url => {

Can't download files with send_data or send_file
I have a form_remote_tag that calls a method to print out a csv file
for download. If I tell the form_remote_tag to update a div the data
comes up in that div, but otherwise I can''t get the browser to
acknowledge the sent file.

<%= form_remote_tag :url => {:action => "csv_dump" }%>

Problem with RJS and/or Prototype.js =>ResponseText is blank
Hi, I''ve got a real head-scratcher. I''ve got a standard Ajax form using
form_remote_tag, which calls a controller action which adds a comment
and then sends back some JS via RJS which updates a few items on the
page.
It did work fine but (and I''ve no idea what has happened) now it
doesn''t. It calls the controller action but gets an empty response back

Is there such a thing as button_to_remote?
I''ve changed my destructive link_to statements in favor of button_to.
But what if I want to make an .rjs call with that button?
Seems like we need something equivalent to link_to_remote, so that the
button can make an ajax request instead submitting the form.
Or am I missing the point entirely?

form_remote_tag and redirects
I would like to have a login box setup so that if incorrect info is
submitted, the box "shakes" via Effect.Shake.
If the correct information is submitted, I want to redirect to some other
page.
The only solution I''ve found is the following, which is pretty ugly, as it
displays the javascript I''m invoking on the page prior to the redirect.
Here is the code:

Using form_remote_tag, setting the form name
I''m using form_remote_tag like this:

:url => { :action => "dataentry_bottom_edit" } %>
And it makes this code:

$servername when running standalone puppet
We have a client-server puppetmaster running puppetd and
puppetmasterd,
however I would like to test configurations locally before committing
the changes
on the puppetmaster.
Running the puppet config locally with /usr/bin/puppet mostly works.
The thing that fails ( which I have commented out on my local copy to
test everything else )
is a erb template for puppet.conf that includes:

form_remote_tag not providing params in Ajax
I''m new to Ruby, Rails and Ajax and I''m trying to do something
seemingly simple. I am trying to use a value someone supplies in a
form in another form that is dynamically generated using Ajax.
I have the following code:
<div id="race_table">

syntax for specifying :html fallback on form_remote_tag
Has anyone gotten the :html option for specifying a ''fallback'' action if javascript''s not enabled working on form_remote_tag (or remote_form_for)? I can''t figure out how to specify the action that''s supposed to be invoked if js _is_ enabled.
Or maybe I''m just misunderstanding how this thing is supposed to work. I was assuming

Problem preventing double click with ajax submit button
For a regular form I use the :onlick option to disable the submit button
after the first click in order to prevent double clicks (leading to
double entries):
<% form_tag :action => ''create'' do %>
<%= submit_tag "Create", :onclick =>
"this.disabled=true,this.form.submit();"%>
I''m having trouble using this same method to prevent

I''m trying now to do "sudo fixrbconfig" in the terminal, and I get this:

form_remote_tag :condition
I am using the following validation prototype-based js library:
http://tetlaw.id.au/view/javascript/really-easy-field-validation
What I am trying to do is upon submitting a form via AJAX, I want it
to meet the conditions of the validation of the function validateMe()
If it passes, go ahead and continue and push the form information via
an AJAX call. This is what I have:

use client''s server variable instead of $servername?
Our puppetmaster runs on a host with multiple interfaces connected to
various private networks, with different hostnames for each IP. I''m
trying to use $servername in modules to copy files over a private
network, but this is always set to the public hostname of the server.
That route is blocked by a firewall. Is there a way to use the server
variable in puppet.conf in manifests?

AJAX to submit form, but reload the whole page
I''m using ROR 1.0 and the included prototype.js to do some AJAX stuff.
I''m using the form_remote_tag to submit a login form using AJAX.
So, any error/failed login will be displayed using AJAX. But, for
successful login, I would want it to reload the wholepage, not just
update the <DIV>.
How can I achieve this?

Problems with form_remote_tag
Hi,
I am trying to use form_remote_tag to update a record and then update
the section of the page where id=''opertion_panel''. There is a javascript
validation that validates the input before the record is being updated.
This validation works and the record was successfully updated. The
problem is after the record is being updated, it didn''t update
operation_panel.

Prototype Based Validation with form_remote_tag
Hello,
I am attempting to use validation.js from
http://tetlaw.id.au/view/blog/really-easy-field-validation-with-prototyp

Ajax.Updater to the onSubmit action of the form. The validation.js also
attempts to bind to the onSubmit of the form.
The logic that is needed is
if( valid.validate() )
{
...Ajax.Updater...
}
