Hello, I try to use Samba as a PDC. I have a old Windows 4.0 PDC and I want to get the users and the groups from the PDC. I joined the domain and get the users and groups with "net rpc vampire". The users and the groups were written in local user- and group-database, but the relation between the users and groups were lost, in the groups were no users. A short message from the

pxelinux in Asus P55T2P4
Hi, as a new user to pxelinux I'm having trouble booting an Asus P55T2P4 from an Intel Etherexpress Pro card with PXE bootrom. I'm using pxelinux 2.04 (tried 2.05pre2 as well) with a Redhat 8.0 kernel (2.4.18) and ramdisk image (for pure testing purposes). The Mainboard I use is a P55T2P4, Rev. 2, newest Bios 0207, 80MB Ram, PCI VGA card and the EEPro. dhcp, tftp work fine, pxelinux

bonding & vlan - kernel 2.4.18 (RHL7.3)
Hi, Hopefully this won''t be too off-topic (I''ve seen both bonding & vlan mentioned on the list, but not really together). I''ve tried to get bonding (2 x 100Mb EEPro, but will want to try on 1000BaseT) and vlans to work together, but without luck. I can get them working fine (seemingly at least - I didn''t tried bursting on the bonded port) individually.

[Bridge] Re: [2.4.22] bad interaction between e100 and bridge: BUG at dev.c:991!
Could the problem be that the e100 can do IP receive checksumming on the board, but the eepro driver doesn't enable it. When the board is doing checksum offload, then the csum field isn't set. Please try disabling receive checksumming on the e100 driver modprobe e100 XsumRX=0 If this is the problem, it exists both 2.4 and 2.6. On Wed, 27 Aug 2003 18:24:57 +0200 Hannes Schulz

Can I run program that needs to open a port?
Hello everyone, I have to following problem (I think...). My program I wish to run (http://www.fujidirekt.se/fotobok/FujiDirektSE.exe) installs perfectly. When I start the application it will try to autoupdate itself which fails due to what I suspect to be an attempt to open a connection over a port that is blocked by my Ubuntu 9.10 installtion. The same thing happens when I try to create a new

3.0.3pre2 Unable to lookup user names for display
The following configuration has been working OK with Samba 3.0.1 Mandrake 9.0 PDC. Redhat 7.3 BDC. (both with ldapsam passdb backend). Solaris 8 Memberserver. After upgrade to 3.0.3pre2, exactly the same configuration - with exactly the same smb.conf - produces an error, when you try to add a user or group in the security settings of a file or directory through MS Explorer. MIDI and friends
Hi, I really appreciate the good work put into wine. And indeed I have some questions: How sophisticated (if at all) is alsa midi support from within wine-hosted sound applications? Think of Cubase/Fruityloops plus some Softsynths played and recorded by an external keyboard. Alsa works very well with low latency etc. on my current debian installation. How thin/thick is the wine sound emulation

write_unbuffered -- Connection reset by peer
Dear all, This is just a placeholder really - I've spent quite a lot of time trying to track down the cause of a problem I'm seeing here, and have eventually got an answer. Thought it might be useful to have the solution googleable. Obviously, if someone has better ideas, I'd welcome comments. Similarly, if anyone wants detailed logs, tcpdump or strace output, I'd be happy to

GIS re-mapping / polygon overlap
In Germany the Unemployment Agency uses a sectioning of the german map that is different from the usual Administrative Boundaries. Some demographic data are available in Administrative Boundaries only, some in Unemployment Boundaries only. I would like to generate estimates in one boundary system of data availabe in the other boundary system, and would appreciate advice concerning the following

no menu.c32, no problem...
Fellow syslinux fans, I'm using syslinux on a boot floppy (I'll call this syslinux A) to invoke an etherboot image (zlilo style) which invokes a tagged NBI image from my DHCP/TFTP server. The tagged NBI image is created using mknbi-dos and also uses syslinux (I'll call this syslinux B), a linux kernel and an initrd file. It works perfectly if syslinux A has a basic .CFG, e.g.:

How to grow an R object from C (.Call Interface)
What is the best way to grow an R return object in writing a C function using the Rdefines.h macros. In my application, the final size of the return object is not known during construction. My understanding is that each time I grow an R object I have to use PROTECT() again, probably before UNPROTECTing the smaller version. However, due to the stack character of the PROTECT mechanism, UNPROTECT

Recursive indexing can cause R-1.8.0 (and R-1.7.1) to segment fault (PR#4486)
Recursive indexing can cause R-1.8.0 (and R-1.7.1) to segment fault First of all, many thanks to the R team!! R is really a software for everyday work. Yes, I've found a fault, but I hope it's not just faultfinding ;-) In the NEWS file of R-1.8.0, first printed in R NEWS 1.7.1, there was given a promise: [ 1 ] o Recursive indexing of lists is allowed, so x[[c(4,2)]] is

interface negotiation questions (slightly off-topic)
Howdy: This is (at least slightly) off-topic, but I've seen more knowledgeable folks than I mention autonegotiation in this venue and, since I didn't get any response on the vortex-bugs mailing list, I thought I'd ask here (also, the interface in question supports samba so...). And there should be some good news for some folks too. If this is old news, sorry (I've been too busy

Zangbandtk under wine - Mouse and Saving issues
Hi, I'm afraid this is largely a reproduction of the post I had on the ubuntu forums but I thought I might be able to get a bit more help with the wine errors here. :) I've been trying to play with the old binary I had from my windows installation of zangbandtk (version 240r5.) It runs almost perfectly but I've encountered two issues: 1) The Right click menus in inventories don't
