[squid-users] debian Jessie squid with auth (kerberos/ntlm/basic) ERROR type NTLM type 3
Hai Amos, Thank you for your very clear responce.. few small questions.. Is there a way to setup the proxy for the following. 1) use negotiate kerberos for auth, ( which is working already for all domain joined machines ) 2) use a fall back that works, for now basic ldap works for non windows machines, and domain joined machines. 3) use any other fallback way for authentication users on windows

Need to authenticate Outlook and NTLM
More on this ... I short-sheeted ntlm_auth to see what was being passed to it. It is getting as arg1: --helper-protocol=squid-2.5-ntlmssp I tried running ntlm_auth at the command line as: ntlm_auth --username=user --password=password --helper-protocol=squid-2.5-ntlmssp It did nothing, just hung there. The ntlm_auth man page says: --helper-protocol=PROTO Operate as a stdio-based helper.

Invalid authenticity tokens when using subdomains
Does anyone have experience with using subdomains and rails? The example that I used to help me out was from the Advanced Rails Recipes book, but I can''t get it working as it should. I continually get authenticity token errors after logging in. I have had this error before, and for whatever reason after I added a<%= token_tag %> to the form it worked, but it doesn''t work

Mongrel stops responding after period of inactivity
Hi I''m running a 2-instance Mongrel cluster behind Apache 2.2.4 with Rails 1.2.3. If no requests are received by the application for several hours (this usually happens overnight) then Mongrel stops responding and no requests are detected by Rails (at least nothing is in the Rails log). Nothing untoward is in the Mongrel log. If you try and visit the application, the request times out

Question on authenticity tokens
Does anyone find them useful? I can see them being good in some cases, but I have many exceptions that occur because of expired sessions. I am also not sure if they are really required for pages that require a login to access. The other place that they cause issues is in javascript requests. I am not using the built-in helpers, and all the javascript exists in separate js files. There is ways

mod_auth_ntlm_winbind issues - does apache connection mgmt support NTLM?
Hello, I have configured Samba 3 with Winbind and installed the mod_auth_ntlm_winbind module deployed on Ubuntu 10 which is used by a web application to enforce logging using windows domain credentials. I have verified that all these layers are properly working? ie.. wbinfo ?u (good), wbinfo ?a <username> (good), ntlm_auth ?helper-protocol=squid-2.5-basic (good). Next step I

Need to authenticate Outlook and NTLM
I've posted questions on this before, but now I really, really need a solution. Using Dovecot 2.2.33.2 We've been using Dovecot as IMAP server for several years on a Linux host which is also the Active Directory / Domain Controller. We have both Thunderbird and Outlook clients. The Thunderbird clients authenticate w/o problem with AD credentials using Kerberos/GSSAPI. I've never

ntlm challenges not working
Hi there, I try to have a XP box using ntlm authentication when accessing a samba domain. In apache I have the following stanza: <Location "/"> AuthName "NTLM Authentication thingy" NTLMAuth on NTLMAuthHelper "/opt/samba/bin/ntlm_auth --helper-protocol=squid-2.5-ntlmssp" NTLMBasicAuthoritative on AuthType NTLM require valid-user

[PATCH] add initial response support for NTLM and RPA
Hello, this patch adds initial response support for NTLM and RPA authentication mechanism. It can be useful if dovecot acts as authentication backend for SMTP server. RFC2554 permits initial response in AUTH command, so it's legal to send NTLM type 1 message or RPA token 1 in it. Please consider applying. Looking for GSSAPI config [was: Looking for NTLM config example]
The last log line shows "user=<>". This indicates no credentials were presented. If the rip field matches the client ip you tested from, I would bet the appropriate kerberos ticket (imap/host.domain.tld at REALM) was not pulled for the authentication. Using NTLM for S.S.O. in Rails

Short version: -------------- - I''m looking for server code to extract credentials through NTLM dialog with the client (IE) - I found nothing usable/useful (as they both implement the client side code) in - rubyntlm on rubyforge - lib ntlm-ruby by Jonathan Bastien-Filiatrau LONG version:

Proxying Apache to Mongrel, not sure if Apache is serving up static files
Let''s try this one... I have Apache 2.0.55 set up and also have Mongrel set up. I have Radiant set up running under Mongrel, and have Apache proxying to the Mongrel instance. That all seems to be working fine. I thought I''d modify the settings a bit to let Apache serve up the static files - images, stylesheets, etc. I have it set up, and am not getting any errors. However.

Sessions Not Working In Production Mode
I am completely stumped by this problem, and would welcome any suggestions people could provide. My application uses active-record-based sessions. In development mode, the app works fine with sessions, no problems. But in production mode, the process works for a while (a few hours, maybe more), but at a certain point the session mechanism stop working. It looks like the system stops storing new

Mongrel + Apache 1.3 + OpenBSD
Hello, I want to install a mongrel rails server with an apache in fronthead, all that on OpenBSD. But OpenBSD is released with a homemade Apache 1.3.29 patched by the OpenBSD team. I really want to keep this version of apache and I don''t want to change it to Apache 2.x (because of the security and the license but it''s not the point here). But for having mongrel, it has to be with

NTLM and Samba domain - problem with (non-local) logons.
Hello! I have a quite strange issue with the Samba based NT domain that I administer. I've triet to search for the solution but none of the information that I had found seemed to work. The trouble is that I can't manage to setup a ntlm based authentication. It applies to both linux and w32 architectures. In the latter case I achieve some level of usability - I can login locally. If I try
