output link_remote_to in helper
Hi all, I have a complex link_remote_to link I need to generate often. I want to DRY up my view and create a helper that generates this link_remote_to for me. Is there a way my helper can output the link_remote_to javascript? routing
Hi all, My site uses subdomains to define an item. Eg http://itemname.mysite.com I fetch the itemname and render the appropriate site from that itemname. The subdomain is used everywhere (eg http://itemname.mysite.com/events, http://itemname.mysite.com/products/show/11, ...) I now want to give the user the possibilty to use a ''real'' domain like www.itemname.com that should

how to rewrite this without a loop ?
Dear Rexperts, First of all let me say that R is a wonderful and useful piece of software. The only thing is that sometimes it takes me a long time to find out how something can be done, especially when aiming to write compact (and efficient) code. For instance, I have the following function (very rudimentary) which takes a (very specific) data frame as input and for certain subsets

Reading Hash/Array
Hi all, My app is generating a form with several bill_items that should be updated (fields to be updated are description and net). The text_field_tag names are bill_item[update][#{id}][description] and bill_item[update][#{id}][net] (and I added bill_item[update][#{id}] [id] just in case) The param received is: {"commit"=>"Save",

Version naming to use in a RoR proyect
Hi everyone, I would need to know if RoR follow any policy for version naming; I mean, something like linux´s kernel does or similar. For instance, kernel uses numbers separated in groups by dots (i.e. pre 2.6 - AA.BB.CC). These groups mean differents fixtures, bugs fixed... I will start a big proyect from scratch with rails and I want to choose now a standart to use and avoid future problems

Lost in translation - Rails 2.0 Nested Resources, Custom Actions
The shift to the :has_many and :has_one options when defining nested resource routes has me perplexed. The block format allows me to define custom REST actions like publish in the example below: map.resources :users do |user| user.resources :articles, :member => { :publish => :put } end It also allows for multiple levels of nesting if necessary. What I''d really like to

distributing a rails application
What are the standard best practices for sharing your rails application on the web? As far as I can tell, you just delete the logs directory and clear out the database.yml What am I forgetting? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk"

kmod c74 broken: howto report it
hi all, latest kmod update 20-15.el7_4.6 is broken on our systems, while previous 20-15.el7_4.4 was working fine (and downgrading fixes the issue). the issue is with modules from mellanox kmod rpms that are symlinked in the weak-updates dir. the config files in /etc/depmod.d look ok (and do work with previous version): dist.conf has weak-updates after built-in, and mellanox kmod rpms ship a
