client @0x7f6ed800bc20 172.16.5.86#62582: update 'campus.company.intra/IN' denied
Hello, The error described in the email title happens in version 9.10 of the bind that I have installed in our main DC. In face of that, I found the samba wiki article that talks about this problem. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Using_BIND_DLZ_backend_with_secured_/_signed_DNS_updates I made a new installation via source with the suggested options: root at dc3:~# fakeroot ./configure

Can't connect to DSL modem on em1
Shorewall 4.5.15 3 Interface setup em1 p3p1 p4p4 ppp0 Hi, Since changing to NetworkManger on Fedora 18 I can no longer connect to the DSL Modem, which is connected to Interface em1. When the NetworkManger brings up the interfaces and ppp0, it no longer assigns an IP to em1. If I have ppp0 disabled and NetworkManger brings up the interfaces, em1 gets an IP of 192.168.1.2. Then when I get

Network issue in dom0
Hello, I have a network issue in dom0; I''m not sure if it''s a configuration problem or a design problem in my setup. My setup: The server (dom0) runs Ubuntu 7.10, Xen was installed using apt-get (means version: Xen 3.10, Kernel 2.6.22-14). This server has 4 NICs. I use bridged networking with my own script which creates 4 bridges ("$dir/network-bridge"

Multiple subnets
Hi all, I have a client that has 4 subnets within his building, internet, office, business center and wireless. My plan is to use Shorewall but I have never tested it with more than 2 interfaces. Is this possible? Would there be any issues that might arise. Each subnet would have access to the internet but there will be no communications allowed between the others. Thanks in advance....

In this exercise, I'm on a remote computer (work, laptop at starbucks, whatever) and want to get to my entire home network. The remote computer is running Windows 7. Everything is working. I can access everything in my home network. (I put a static route in my router for the node running tinc) - But on the remote computer(s) I am having to put a route statement in. Home network is

2 NICs Bridge + Router
Hi wondering if anyone can help. I have two NICs on a debian sarge based system and current running as a bridge (br0) which consists of eth0 and eth1. Is it possible to add a virtual interface to the eth1 so I can also do NAT on the box as well? I have tried many times and keep coming up with errors. Kind Regards William Bohannan

libvirtd -- iptables
Hi All, I created a couple of virtual networks (forward mode=nat) in my rhel6-kvm box. I've come across 2 weird issues. 1. My Iptables rule chainset contains repeated rules. The same rule gets repeated block by block 2. For connecting to guest using SSH, I created a custom IPTables chain. I want this chain to be on top of the FORWARD chain, but everytime the libvirtd is restarted the rule

HTB - Shaping after Filter/Class removal
After I remove a filter, I seem to be loosing my "parents" class shaping rules that will return a filter to default after removing just the filter or both. Sorry, this is hard to say. I create a Class, give it a default Class and one "special" Class with a "C"class filter. Then I remove that "special" IP filter then class. Should that IP, that is within

Domain logon through VPN with WINS
Hi! I'm experiencing some serious problems setting up Samba as PDC. File sharing works fine and I can even add my computer to the domain, but when I reboot I can't log in with my samba username and password. I've previously set up similiar server, though it wasn't trough VPN. I'm running latest Debian Etch with every package upgraded. I've also tried some older samba

limiting netlogon scripts to a subnet?-will this work?
Would this work? The problem is, I do not have roaming profiles in use(As it is not practical for us, as users tend to use the same computers). I want only users with IP from 192.168.1.x to load the databases. The loaddatabases.cmd file in question would contain rem Grab IP address and dump to a file ipconfig >"%userprofile%\ipconfig.txt" echo Checking for your location
