n-levels of nested resources in REST?
Hi,
I find it would be very convenient to nest resources in two levels, so
a member is only sensible as a part of a club, and a fee pament is
only sensible in the context of a club and a member.
Is it possible to nest nested resources? How would the syntax be?
I have tried just nesting the assignment in routes.rb, but failed to
get it right
What do ou think? Is it possible?

FLAC support for Android?

As long as Android obviously has a rather poorly performing VM and no
support for playing software generated PCM samples (except for writing
them to a temporary WAV file and telling Andorid to play it after
decoding is complete) it's not feasible, but a "real"

Nester Resources, Routes and Class Inheritance
Ok here''s a quicky... but a goody :)
We have models Company, Reference and Applicant... and References and
Applicants just inherit from Company, and are basically companies with
the type field set to reference...
All companies can have a phone number associated with them, and phone
number is a different model...
I''m having trouble using the form_for method with a company that

[Rails 3] Trouble with named routes and form_for
Hi guys,
I''m having trouble getting named routes and form_for to play nicely in quite the way I would expect. Here''s a quick summary of what I''ve got going on:
Named route:
resources :thread, :class_name => "forum_thread"
Controller name:
forum_thread_controller
Model object:
forum_thread
In both my new and edit actions I''m setting up an

Somewhat off topic: Building Android on CentOS 5.4
I asked this question on android-platform at googlegroups.com but never
received a response. I suspect most (if not all) people compiling the
Android platform are using some version of Ubuntu ... hence the lack of
response. I would not normally cross post but am hopeful that another
CentOS 5.4 user (not on the android-platform forum) might have
successfully built the Android platform. I would

FLAC support for Android?
I envisioned this being implemented as a patch to Android at the OS level.
It looks like Android has native decoders which the media player and Java
APIs call. My understanding is that T-Mobile pushes out over the air
updates of the operating system every so often. For example, there's a new
version of the Android OS called
Cupcake<http://source.android.com/roadmap/cupcake>in the

How to test views with Nested Resources and Partials
Hi everyone,
I am relatively new to rspec and I am running into a wall in testing my
views. I have a RESTful resource Contracts with a nested resource of
Line_items.
I am trying to figure out how to test the "edit" form of the Line_items.
What complicates this is the nested routing and how to account for it,
and that there is a partial form (_form.haml) that both the edit.haml

instance_exec routes -> form helpers
The new router in Rails 3 is clean and concise and marks the
acceptance of instance_exec as a method for writing a gorgeous DSL.
I''m wondering should something similar be applied to the default form helpers?
Moving from this:
<%= form_for(@post) do |f| %>
<%= f.text_field :title %>
<% end %>
to this:
<%= form_for(@post) do %>
<%= text_field :title %>

Routes not working
Hello everyone,
I''ve been using RoR for awhile now, but I''m new to Rails 3... I''m
trying to follow a tutorial that creates a registration page that
creates a user. Simple enough, right? When I go to
server:3000/user/register, it comes up with my registration page
fine. However, when I submit it (form_for :user) it complains that my
route (user/register) does not

Samba 4.1 gentent, ls, no display domain user name on Primary ACDC but wbinfo -u yes
Hello friends:
I hope you can help me with this I'm struggling a year ago
After breaking my head migrating a server with Samba Samba 2.1 to 4.1 all stay perfect and functional.
All files are in this domain controller for now, and then be moved to a domain member, "the file server".
I configure the server as ADDC Samba 4.1 and up here all went well, the shares, the users, winbind,

undefined method form_for ?
Seems the only issues I ever have with Rails are these bizarre fiddly
little things that make no sense.
Can''t for the life of me understand why I''m getting undefined method on
form_for in a view?
And it''s actually part of the acts_as_authenticated plugin that''s doing
it. But how can it not know about form_for?

form_for not working with Markaby
I''m playing around with Markaby and I decided to write a little blog app.
I''m running into issues with forms however. If I use form_for the output of
the form gets swallowed. For example:
form_for :article, @article do |f|
f.text_field :title
f.check_box :published
f.text_area :description
f.text_field :pub_date
f.text_area :content
end
gets rendered as an empty form

Dynamic drop-downs in a form_for using AJAX remote_function - Help
Hello -
I am fairly new to Ruby on Rails, but feel like I am learning quick.
I have what seems to be a fairly unique issue as I cannot find much
out there that describes what I''m seeing. Hopefully it''s a very
simple fix, and I simply can''t see the forest through all the trees!
I am attempting to create 2 related drop-down lists in the same
form_for, both using

Dynamically add radio buttons to forms?
Good afternoon all
I''m trying to implement a form that dynamically inserts radio buttons
into a form. The user selects options from a drop-down menu. I use
observe_field to watch for a change and call back to render the
appropriate partial tha contains the radio options. All works nicely
but I''m tripped up on one thing:
When rendering a form using form_for how do I link those
