sortable tree problem
Hello,
I''m having a problem when I set the tree option to true on Sortable.
If I set the option to false my remote call works fine, but once I set
it to true, I get some weird log errors from Webrick...

help debugging an error
Hi, I''ve started getting an error I can''t debug. The error doesn''t generate
anything in my development log. A breakpoint set right at the beggining of
the controller method does not get triggered. It happens on a form
submission. I can make changes to the object model from with the console,
but not on this form submission. I thought maybe it was routing, because I

form_tag error -- not found, 404 -- action DOES exist!
Hi -- I''ve got a very strange error.
I have an action called ''commit_input'' on a controller called
''SiteVisitController''. This definately exists, and is called from the
functional test for it, and passes fine.
My problem is with the form that is supposed to call this action.
The form tag is:

actionmailler corrupting emails
Hi All,
I have a problem with actionmailer corrupting my html emails. It is
adding the character ''3D'' before any quotes (single or double) in my
source and smattering ''='' characters throughout as well. Very
strange. Here''s an example from one of the emails:

Reference classes and memory consumption
Dear All,
It seems that reference classes consume a lot of memory which became a problem for my rather extensive simulation.
I prepared a small example. An instance of this minimal class uses about 20K on disk.
rm(list=ls(all=TRUE));
MySmallClass = setRefClass("MySmallClass",
fields = list(
myField = "numeric"
),

transform.data.frame() ignores unnamed arguments when no named argument is provided
Thanks and good point about unspecified behavior. The way it behaves now
(when it doesn't ignore) is more consistent with data.frame() though so I
prefer that to a "warn and ignore" behaviour:
data.frame(a = 1, b = 2, 3)
#> a b X3
#> 1 1 2 3
data.frame(a = 1, 2, 3)
#> a X2 X3
#> 1 1 2 3
(and in general warnings make for unpleasant debugging so I prefer

How to call subset in a for loop?
Dear all,
I have a data frame 'myDf', in which one of the fields 'myField' can have
several possible values. To extract the observations for which it has value
"A", I can do:
subset(myDf, myField="A")
However, when I try to do this within a loop, it doesn't work, it returns
everything, and not a subset

Dear R-community,
my data set looks like 'mat' below.
Plant<-c(NA,1,1,1,NA,NA,NA,NA,NA,1);
Value1<-rnorm(1:10);
Value2<-rnorm(1:10);
mat<-cbind(Plant,Value1,Value2);
I receive data from two different sites.
One site is identified by an interger number, the other site has no data in
column Plant=NA.

cbind in aggregate formula - based on an existing object (vector)
Hello!
I am aggregating using a formula in aggregate - of the type:
aggregate(cbind(var1,var2,var3)~factor1+factor2,sum,data=mydata)
However, I actually have an object (vector of my variables to be aggregated):
myvars<-c("var1","var2","var3")
I'd like my aggregate formula (its "cbind" part) to be able to use my
"myvars" object. Is it

Beginner help about output in R
Dear R experts,
I am a beginner with R and I have a question regarding the output of a
function.
Basically, I created 2 functions, value1 and value2, that calculate two
values, and I would like to print those two values to an output datafile. I
tryed the following function:
function (x) {write.table(data.frame(value1(x),value2(x)),file=output.txt)}
My problem is that I would like to calculate

Creating data frame with residuals of a data frame
Dear experts,
I am trying to create a data frame from the residuals I get after
having applied a linear regression to each column of a data frame, but
I don't know how to create this data frame from the resulting list
since the list has differing numbers of rows.
So for example:
age<- c(5,6,10,14,16,NA,18)
value1<- c(30,70,40,50,NA,NA,NA)
value2<- c(2,4,1,4,4,4,4)
df<-

How to plot doubles series with different location using plotCI
Dear list
members,
I would
like to create two series of plotted mean values and error bars, yet with
different locations along the x-axis.
Plotting of
first series using plotCI with the standard arguments goes without any problem.
However I do not succeed to add the second series in the same plot, which
should be horizontally shifted from the first series along the x-axis. The “add=TRUE”

The pdf file R-intro descripe on page 27 that lists can be extended by adding
numbers.
Unfortunately, it's not working
## example :
# if i did not declare the variable an error occurs : object not found

About normality tests...
Hi all,
I have two very large samples of data (10000+ data points) and would
like to perform normality tests on it. I know that p < .05 means that
a data set is considered as not normal with any of the two tests. I am
also aware that large samples tend to lead more likely to normal
results (Andy Field, 2005).
I have a few questions to ensure that I am using them right.
