Ok, here is the situation: I need to run a mongrel server on windows server 2003. The application it will be serving is an application that is frozen to rails 1.1.6. We''re using mongrel 1.0 as the web server. Every 10th request (random, sometimes more sometimes less), either called through ajax or as a normal page request... dies with a 500 error. No logs are available anywhere, as far

Webbrick and/or Mongrels Dies Overnight
I have a SuSE 10.0 server that was first running Webbrick, and now Mongrel. In both cases, I can have them running and used all day. However, either one of them will go unresponsive in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason. Being that I only use Mongrel now, I check the mongrel.log, and nothing unusual there. I check /var/log/ messages, and nothing there. Still, a request to

Fun with Mongrel and cygwin.
On the Mongrel FAQ forum, Josh Wehner was having problems with cygwin (don''t know if he fixed it). http://rubyforge.org/forum/forum.php?thread_id=6978&forum_id=5450 Due that, I manage to install cygwin, ruby and rails on my humble little computer, it compiled worked ok (taste like *nix, so I felt a bit off-road running this). Anyway, tried to pass test for mongrel, and still get 1

ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken not thrown in Windows

I was testing one of my registration forms and it worked fine when mongrel_rails was run on the windows machine, but when mongrel was run on os x it kept throwing "ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken". newbie question about mongrel
Hi, I am very new to ruby, rails, and mongrel, so this may not make any sense, but i figured i would ask it anyways. I have been given the task of determining if rails is a good transition for our company. While my preliminary tests have been successful (i.e. installing mongrel, deploying a test app, etc), i have to figure out how to run our existing cgi scripts under our new environment.

one mongrel with *lots* of close_wait tcp connections
* cross posted to the mongrel mailing list* Hi, I''m running into a strange issue where one mongrel will sometimes develop hundreds of CLOSE_WAIT TCP connections, mostly to apache (I think -- see sample lsof output below). I haven''t had a chance to get the mongrel with this behavior into USR1 debug mode yet. I wrote a little loop below that will catch it next time. This

Issues with mod_proxy/mod_proxy_balancer and my ded. server host
Hello list, I wonder if someone could help me understand the following: I''ve got a managed dedicated server with GoDaddy. Until now, I''ve only hosted PHP applications there. I now need to set it up to host my new beloved Rails application. I asked them to set up apache with mod_proxy_balancer for the mongrel cluster, however, here''s what they told me: *Unfortunately,
