CentOSplus Postfix with mysql/pgsql
The lasted version of Postfix in the OS for 4.5 add a .1 to the rpm
version which makes it newer than the CentOSPlus version and hence
replaces it, any intent to update the 4.5 CentOSPlus package or should I
roll my own with mysql included?
4.5 OS Version: postfix-2.2.10-1.1.el4.i386.rpm
4.4/5 CentOSPlus Version: postfix-2.2.10-1.RHEL4.2.mysql_pgsql.c4.i386.rpm
Thanks

Two Issues - Postfix and Gamin
Greetings,
I have done a bit of searching and I have found that the 4.5 version of
Postfix is the following rpm: postfix-2.2.10-1.1.el4.i386.rpm. I had
previously had the CentOSPlus version with mysql compiled in and just
recently upgraded to 4.5 from 4.4, upon doing this.. the above RPM was
installed, which is greater than the postfix with mysql from CentOSPlus,
which is the following rpm:

Logwatch with Postfix and Amavisd-new
I'm trying to get usable reports out of logwatch on this new system.
Looks like the reports are running in an 'unformatted' mode under
Postfix/Amavisd.
I found a couple of programs, postfix-logwatch and amavisd-logwatch.
These sound promising. I am running Amavisd as the frontend to Postfix.
Is anybody running either of these as a logwatch filter?
If so, is it repetitive to run

mailbox utilities
Hello,
Are there any utilities that will spit out statistics about some
mailboxes I have on my server? For example, how many messages are in
each mailbox? They appear to be in mbox format (default?).
Thanks!

Postfix dying
Hello list,
Postfix is dying on one of my servers almost nightly. This system is
running CentOS5 with postfix-2.3.3-2.
In the morning (after noticing it died) I try to run `service postfix
stop` and I get a failed start. Running `ps ax | grep postfix` I can
see one process still running for postfix. After killing this, I am
able to run `service postfix start`.
I see a lot of this in my

Postfix + MySQL + IMAP + Squirrelmail + Virtual Domains + Web Management.
Greetings,
I have long read and followed this list. I have also spent a
considerable time with our good friend Google.
I am a long time Sendmail user, about 15 yrs now. I have recently been
looking into the newer services and the Postfix setup seems to be a very
nice one. I am migrating a mail server from 3.x to 4.x and was intending
on trying out Postfix on the 4.x server. I have found

systemd-sleep
I found that one of my users' workstation is, for some reason, running
systemd-sleep. I cannot find, anywhere on the system. system-sleep.conf
(or systemd-sleep.conf), nor do I find systemctl status system[d]-sleep.
How can I turn this thing off, other than renaming
/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sleep?

how to calculate mail storage/traffic used
Hi,
we have to setup a server which gets a copy of all messages send and
received by our mailserver as a 1:1 copy. Mails send to multiple
recipients should be calculated and saved per user. (great if you
usually have lost of mails send to groups of people.)
So no dedublication should be used here. (e.g. save the message and
refer the different recipients to it.)
How can I calculate the current

how to monitor,or be notified of email blacklisting ?
Hi,
Does anyone know how I can monitor our server's for blacklisting? We
run a large amount of shared hosting & reseller hosting servers and
from time to time one of the IP's will get blacklisted. I'm looking
for a way to be notified if any of our IP's get blacklisted. Is this
possible?

script to detect dictionary attacks
Hi
has someone a script which can filter out dictionary attacks
from /var/log/maillog and notify about the source-IPs?
i know about fail2ban and so on, but i would like to have
a mail with the IP address for two reasons and avoid fail2ban
at all because it does not match in the way we maintain firewalls

inherit group on new files/directories
I have a share with folders belonging to diferent groups, with
restricted access depending on unix groups.
When a user creates a file inside one of this folders I want it created
with "directory group"; I think it should be possible using "inherit
acl" but it don't work; my share configuration is:

path = /home/samba/arees

D-Link DPH-80S vs *
List,
The D'Link phones are not reliable at this time. I am trying to get them fix their Firmware to my specifications. It is half done so far. However there are still hurdles. below email is self explanatory. At present if you want to use these phones, you need to buy D'Link's SIP Server and run this as one of your SIP servers in the blend to call to Asterisk.
