[PATCH] (2/4) delay scheduler - retry if requeue fails
If delay scheduler decides not to send the packet right away, it requeues it. If the requeue fails, it should go and look again rather than waking up prematurely. Same patch should apply to both 2.6 and 2.4 Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@osdl.org> diff -Nru a/net/sched/sch_delay.c b/net/sched/sch_delay.c --- a/net/sched/sch_delay.c 2004-06-17 15:19:07 -07:00 +++

[PATCH] packet delay scheduler
Okay, here is a very simple QOS scheduler that delays packets for 2.6. It is good for testing, and might be useful for people who want to put some class of traffic into a "penalty box". Alexey''s tc command is really easy to extend to new disciplines. There is a version which knows about this scheduler at: http://developer.osdl.org/shemminger/tcp/iproute2-delay.tar.bz2 The

[PATCH 2.6] update to network emulation QOS scheduler
This patch updates the network emulation packet scheduler. * name changed from delay to netem since it does more than just delay * Catalin''s merged code to do packet reordering * uses a socket queue''s directly rather than layering on qdisc(fifo) because this is used in performance tests. * adds placeholder in API for future enhancements (rate and duplicate).

[PATCH] (4/4) add loss option to network delay scheduler
This enhances the network simulation scheduler to do simple random loss. The loss parameter is a simple 32 bit value such that 0 means no loss, and 0xffffffff is always drop. I have a new version of the tc command which takes care of conversion from percent to this value. Same patch for 2.4 and 2.6 Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@osdl.org> diff -Nru

netem with prio hangs on duplicate
hi i tried the example given on the examples page to duplicate selected traffic like tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: prio tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:3 handle 3: netem duplicate 40% tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip parent 1:0 prio 3 u32 match ip dst 11.0.2.2 flowid 1:3 when i ping from 11.0.2.2 to this interface my machine hangs. the same thing works for drop or delay. i would

[ANNOUNCE] sch_ooo - Out-of-order packet queue discipline
Hello! I like to announce sch_ooo, a new queue discipline that, attached to a class (or a device, as root) reorder the packets that pass by delaying some. Example: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root ooo limit 100 gap 4 wait 1100 This queue will create a pfifo with limit 100 and will delay every 4th packet with 1100ms. An stream of 6 packets like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6, generated by ping will be reordered

HTB. QoS and Shorewall
Group, I am reading about tc (traffic control) and willing to get my feet wet. As requirement, there should be HTB compiled in the kernel. I grabbed a Mandrake 8.2 distro, and didn''t installed the kernel source. Anyone knows if the HTB is compiled in Mandrake 8.2, or point a way to find that out? I tried to read the /usr/src/kernel.xxxxx/.config file, but it doesn''t exists.

Compiling sch_tbf.c in user space
Hi, I am new to kernel programming. My task is to route packets from different hosts through one single token bucket filter as we are trying to model a wireless scenario with many hosts communicating and sharing the same bandwidth. So the idea we came up with was to route packets from different hosts to user space using Netfilter and then send them through a common tbf implemented in user space in

[PATCH 0/6] htb: cleanup
The HTB scheduler code is a mess, this patch set does some basic house cleaning. The first four should cause no code change, but the last two need more testing. -- Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@osdl.org> "And in the Packet there writ down that doome" - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe netdev" in the body of a message to

netem usage example
I''m trying to setup a netem delay with no luck (using iproute2-2.6.8, compilation broke during arpd compile, so I use the tc binary in the tc/ subdir, there''s also a q_netem.so there). kernel is 2.6.8.1, compile with CPU cycle counter as time reference. I was using sch_delay of 2.6.7 happily with something like: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root 1: delay latency 1ms rate 35M now I use:

btrfs raid1 on 16TB goes read-only after "btrfs: block rsv returned -28"
Dear Devs, I have x4 4TB HDDs formatted with: mkfs.btrfs -L bu-16TB_0 -d raid1 -m raid1 /dev/sd[cdef] /etc/fstab mounts with the options: noatime,noauto,space_cache,inode_cache All on kernel 3.8.13. Upon using rsync to copy some heavily hardlinked backups from ReiserFS, I''ve seen: The following "block rsv returned -28" is repeated 7 times until there is a call trace

tc and iptables trouble

what''s the meaning of xchg()?
lartc-request,hello! I find a line in tbf_change() in sch_tbf.c: ptab = xchg(&q->P_tab, ptab); Can I consider that the pointers are exchanged between q->P_tab and ptab? as following: prev=q->R_tab; q->R_tab = rtab; rtab = prev; Is my understanding righ? ======= 2002-03-23 12:01:00 you wrote:======= >Send LARTC mailing list
