Ruby on Rails with e-novative WAMP
I am brand new to Ruby and Ruby on Rails, and I already have e-novatove WAMP set up and running perfectly for PHP/MySQL development. Can I set this up to use Ruby without messing it up for PHP/MySQL? It took me a while to get it working for PHP/MySQL and I don''t want to do anything to break it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim -- Posted via

InstantRails - command "rails" does not work
Hey, I installed InstantRails 1.7 (on Windows XP Home). I unzipped it with 7-Zip in D:\InstantRails (no spaces in pathname + short pathname) to avoid UnZip-problems. I followed the installation instructions. The cookbook-example works fine. But when I want to create an own project with "rails projectname", my computer says something like "The command "rails" is either

ActiveRBAC?
How''s the experience with using ActiveRBAC? For my "next 4 days with rails" :P I''d like to consider adding Role-based access to the To-Do List application in the original "four days w/ rails" tutorial. Just wondering if ActiveRBAC would be a good place to start? Thanks! For those who are wondering: https://activerbac.turingstudio.com/trac Cheers Mohit.

Agile Web Dev (book) question: errors
This is kind of frustrating (but no doubt helpful in the long run) that after following along and coding , and d/l the code the same error is appearing. For those who are familiar with the depot app, I''ve run into a problem after fixing the cart to reflect quanitites. I worked through the intended error messages but now have this appearing: SyntaxError in StoreController#add_to_cart

First of all I want to use: Windows 2000 Apache 1.3+ MySQL The above is accomplished with WAMP5 from wampserver.com The problem is that there is no complete step-by-step for installation in this enviroment. Performance (cough cough) Poor: Instant Rails
Hi, In short, RoR is brand spanking new to me, I set up Instant Rails (if you can call copying files "setup") and made my own simple app via scaffold. One table, 11 cols, 100 rows. All is well, except when I view the data, it takes 5-10 seconds to show the page, 5-10 more seconds to get the edit page and so on. Going back to the previous page is no faster (via previous link).

New member, new OS, old Tao user
Mr. Parsley, the main man at the Tao Linux group, has announced that he will no longer be able to do his thing for Tao Linux. Just recently, I had decided to investigate CentOS 4 before his announcement, and liked a lot of what I saw. Due to the Tao announcement, I have decided that CentOS will "have" to be the OS for my company in the future. Hence, my new membership to this list.
