GSoC - Improve parallelism-aware analyses and optimizations
Awesome, thanks!
As per your suggestion, I read the description of these two projects:
Advanced Heuristics for Ordering Compiler Optimization Passes
Machine learning and compiler optimizations: using inter-procedural
analysis to select optimizations
and they are amazing! Indeed, they are very close to my interest in
autotuning. I didn't see them on the list before.

Sipura SPA-3000 setup in Brazil
All-
I'm attempting to set up a Sipura SPA-3000 in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Not being a
portuguese speaker, I'm having a rough time of finding the relevant
information on how to make the thing pick up the PSTN line and make an
outbound call.
The sipura in question works fine on a bench connected to a POTS line in the
US, but is now plugged in in Sao Paolo. The immediate thing I notice is that

function prop.trend.test (stats)
To the R-help list,
In the documentation of the prop.trend.test function in the
stats package, no bibliography has been provided which
would allow one to find out the theoretical basis of that
function and/or details of its implementation.
May I suggest that some bibliography be included, as it
generally happens with other statistical functions.
I currently use R 2.8.0 running on Windows XP.

plotting on the figure margin
Dear R-list members,
I am trying to put a legend just outside the plotting area
of a graph.
1. Is there some way to plot symbols on the figure margin,
in the same way as function "mtext" can write on the
margin?
2. Is there some way to use the "legend" function (or some
equivalent function) to plot a legend on the figure margin?
3. Any other way to plot either symbols or a

barplot with anchored bars
Dear R list members,
How to produce barplots anchored to the x-axis (not floating
above the x-axis) with a box around?
With both following codes, the lower horizontal line of the
box is below the y = 0 line:
# first code
x <- c(1,2,3,4)

# second code
x <- c(1,2,3,4)
op <- par(yaxs='i')
barplot(x)
box()

The parameter yaxs='i'

E1 in Brazil
Hey all!
I had an experience trying to set up an E1 in Brazil which could help
somebody. In Brazil is very common telcos to have just R2 digital as their
primary signaling. As I were trying to set up an E100P, which does not
support R2 yet, I had to test an other signaling which works perfectly with
Asterisk.
They call this signaling as RDSI, using ccs as framing and PA (primary
access) as
