iproute2 tool compiling problems.
Hi all. This is my first msg in this list, and I´d appreciate any help you could give me. I already compiled the kernel with the options to run iproute2 tools. But, when I download the iproute2-2.4.7-now-ss010824.tar.gz file from ftp://ftp.inr.ac.ru/ip-routing/ and try to compile it, I got too many errors. Here goes the output: server:/home/nathan/iproute2# make make[1]: Entering

Multiple domain browselist over a wanlink
Hi, I'm trying to generate a multiple domain browselist but I don't get it to work. I've tried everyting by the book but the result is always the same: I can see the other workgroup(s) but they are empty. Currently I've added the following rules to the smb.conf remote browse sync = 192.168.2.2 192.168.2.4 remote announce = 192.168.2.2 192.168.2.4 As far as I understand

[Bridge] [PATCH/RFC] Let {ip, arp}tables "see" bridged VLAN tagged {I, AR}P packets
Hi all, The patch below does four trivial changes and one big change Trivial changes, these are all in br_netfilter.c: - check ar_pln==4 when giving bridged ARP packets to arptables - delete unnecessary if in br_nf_local_in - add more logging for the "Argh" message - add some brag-comments in the file head comment Big change: let {ip,arp}tables see VLAN tagged {I,AR}P packets. IP Tunneling
Hello I have /25 addressed on a box (virtual devices on eth0) and I want to tunnel some of these addresses to my home network. One address to my gateway (a.b.c.d, external IP) and one address to my internal network (192.168.0.0/24-style). I will use the tunnels for irc, smtp and surfing. What protocol and which technique is easiest and best to use? One more thing. I don''t want to set up

[patch 05/12] make __constant_htons visible
The __constant_htons and similar are defined in klibc version of netinet/in.h, but not in glibc counterpart. Include the same thing from <asm/byteorder.h>, which is available in both glibc and klibc. Perhaps __constant_htons should be dropped from the klibc version of netinet/in.h: it provides nothing that you cannot get via asm/byteorder, and gets in the way of porting between glibc and

[PATCH] Fix busy-looping behaviour in ipconfig
The ipconfig code does not drop incoming packets that it can't handle. Since the packet socket sends ipconfig its own broadcast requests, ipconfig has the unfortunate behaviour of eating 100% of the CPU time when it does not receive an immediate response to its outgoing requests. This patch fixes the problem, by ensuring that packets are dropped if they are not handled. It also introduces a

ext3 bug?
Hi, I have a severe filesystem crash on a machine with a single ext3 filesystem. It is the second time that this happens to me (on two different machines that are identical in hardware setup and mostly in software - I cloned them when I started to work). It looks like the journal (or something else, i am not an expert here) has gone wild and overwritten loads of inodes. I have a single filesys

Impossible to IPfilter this?
Hi! I'm trying to increase security on my FreeBSD 4.8 firewall/DSL router/VPN router. My problem is with firewalling the VPN part. I'm using a tunnel to a RedHat 7.1 box running FreeS/WAN. This tunnel allows traffic from my internal net (172.17.0.0/24) to that box only: spdadd 172.17.0.0/24 $REDHAT/32 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/$MYADDR-$REDHAT/unique; spdadd $REDHAT/32 172.17.0.0/24

optparse::parse_args, using equals sign or not
Hi We've found that when using parse_args(..., positional_arguments=FALSE), it is permissible to invoke our script with either "--myfoo=bar" or "--myfoo bar"; that is, whether or not the equals sign is present makes no difference, and in fact both usage forms are demonstrated in the optparse vignette. However, we've found that when using parse_args(...,
