IPSEc versus Multipath routing
Firstly I don''t think this is a shorewall problem, but I suspect shorewall
might be able to solve it for me.
I''ve posted this so far at

IP Masquerade issues
Okay here is my setup:
Gentoo Box running 2.6.4 w/ 4 NICs
1 NIC is for internal network
3 NICs are for external network
The machine has a static address assigned to the internal network nic. This
nic runs dhcp and dns forwarding. The other 3 nics have external dynamic IP
addresses. All will have the same gateway. There are 3 NICs because this is
a very large pipe, that will only allocate a

After many many hours of frustration and failures I''m almost to the
point that I don''t think this is even currently possible with Linux.
With out going in to too much detail, I am effectively wanting to do the
following.
I want to be able to take traffic in from a local LAN on eth0 and route
it out eth1 to a default gateway with a static IP. I want said default

multipath routing question
Hi All,
I have a linux router, configured with two internet connections and two
lan segments. I''ve setup multipath routing as described in
http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html
My problem (I think) is that somehow the router will randomly choose
incorrect routing paths for different hosts, for example:
on my workstation (192.168.1.20), I ssh to a server I have on an

Finally: A working case of two adsl load balance
First of all i wanna thanks Christoph Simon for the support.
Only after his reply to my email i could see the real solution to
the problem (Valeu mesmo cara... me ajudou pra caramba!
Fico te devendo essa!) :)
Here is what i learned in a month of research:
I tried A LOT of things to do load balance, including the one at
LARTC homepage. The only tutorial that REALLY works in my
case is the

Routing/forwarding/shaping problems in v2.2.x (Long - sorry)
Greetings from a newbie!
(Well, to this list anyway)
I''m having a problem and I hope someone here might be able to help...
I am strongly expecting an answer along the lines of "upgrade to v2.4.x", but
I would REALLY preffer to avoid that for now...
The setup:
"Home brewed" v2.2.24 (will patch to v2.2.25 later today) with the DS8 patch
applied. Currently

Re:Multipath Masquerade
Don’t mind my previous post – I figured out the issue, I wasn’t properly setting broadcast addresses in the appropriate areas. I rewrote my script to take this into account and it works great now ☺

multipath routing
I have a private lan that is connected to the world via 3 dsl lines. I put
up a linux box that handles all the dsl lines, lan gateway and all is
working well...until...one of the dsl lines goes down. My routing table is:
x.x.x.x dev ppp0 proto kernel scope link src x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x dev ppp1 proto kernel scope link src x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x dev ppp2 proto kernel scope link src x.x.x.x

RAID + DRBD + iSCSI + Multipath
Hello,
We''ve been using Xen on several servers with direct-attached storage for
a number of years. Now we''re looking to buy more Xen servers and
re-purpose two of the older ones as SANs to hold the domU filesystems,
in order to achieve redundancy and live migration ability. I''m looking
for comments on our proposed design.

Load balance (two links in one server): why is this not working?
Hello,
I am trying to make a load balance at my box using two conections. I have compile my kernel with this patch routes-2.6.13-12.diff (tha I get from this website: http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/#routes).
The problem is that when I try to balance using weight sintaxe (i will put the script bellow) some conectios just drop. So I can enter some pages but other I could not...

I have finished setting up the load balancer with IPROUTE ... also patch the

Egress shaping over multiple interfaces?
Hello,
After reading the excellent HOWTO I got traffic shaping working nicely over
ethernet devices on a test setup. I can''t put this setup live though, because
our main firewall has three 2mbit hdlc interfaces instead of a single device.
We are using multipath routing using iproute2 nexthop at the moment, and that
works fine for firewalling. But now I have a need for shaping and

multiple uplinks example script
Hi!
I had two uplinks till today. We stopped one of them today, so i thought
i could share my experience. (it is maybe useful for somebody)
I hadn''t managed to configure it using a LARTC howto, but the Nano-howto
(http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt) and julian''s kernel patches.
I had some problems with icq connections, because it is a two step
connection (It is just theory).

Multipath Routing..
Ok folks, here goes..
I have been boggling with a problem for the past week, and still haven''t
found a solution..
I''m trying to route traffic from two providers through a Linux machine.
But that is not the problem. The ISP''s have provided me with a WAN IP
class for both of the lines, to be routed into a DMZ where the machines

Multiple gateways
Hello,
Since I could not figure out my previous problem, let me ask in a different way.
I have 3 networks inside my LAN. They are 172.16.55.0/24 ,
172.16.56.0/24 and 172.16.57.0/24 respectively. They all use eth0 as
an alias.
I also have 2 uplinks to different ISPs. One of them is leased line
and the other one is ADSL.
One of my uplink is 81.8.120.18/30 with gateway 81.8.120.17 on eth1

multipath routing
Hi, I am tring to us ip route to load balance between two interfaces.
ip route add equalize 10.200.1.0/24 nexthop via 10.200.0.2 dev neta nexthop via 10.200.0.2 dev neta2
Where neta and neta2 are gre tunnels. Testing show that packets travel in a single sided manner.
Do I need to use the multipath (IP_ROUTE_MULTIPATH_CACHED) module?
thx jason
