[LLVMdev] initializeNAMEPass(llvm::PassRegistry&) should have been declared inside 'llvm'
Hey all, So I've been working to fix a problem I had wherein I could not properly initialize AliasAnalysis profiling information. In order to fix it, I've had to rewrite how my pass operates, such that it contains this in the FunctionPass declaration; RelRecovery() : FunctionPass(ID) { llvm::initializeRelRecoveryPass(*PassRegistry::getPassRegistry()); } and contains these

[LLVMdev] SFI and Artificial Diversity
Awesome! Thanks so so much! I'm very interested in doing some work with compilers. Yeah, I'm considering writing a research proposal where I work for JIT-SFI, SFI Evasion Technique and Mitigation, and a few other things. Considering your experience working on modifying llvm, what would you say would be a topic where I could start out doing some good work on, either in a new direction or

[PATCH v3 4/6] x86: Consolidate PCI_MMCONFIG configs
From: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka at siemens.com> Since e279b6c1d329 ("x86: start unification of arch/x86/Kconfig.*"), we have two PCI_MMCONFIG entries, one from the original i386 and another from x86_64. This consolidates both entries into a single one. The logic for x86_32, where this option was not under user control, remains identical. On x86_64, PCI_MMCONFIG becomes additionally

[LLVMdev] incorrect x86 instruction size calculation
Hello, I'm trying to write some backends for LLVM that generate code that complies with SFI validation rules by re-implementing SFI for the LLVM x86 backend based on the Google NaCl project. However, in trying to implement 32-byte code alignment, X86InstrInfo::GetInstSizeInBytes() is returning incorrect instruction sizes for certain instructions (that I have seen so far): MOV32mi,

[LLVMdev] GSOC project on KCoFI
Hi In my previous mail I mentioned the project on KCoFI( the control FLow integrity methods for commodity hardware http://sva.cs.illinois.edu/pubs/KCoFI-Oakland-2014.pdf ). Will it be more helpful to the community if I do the improvements number #1 and #3 mentioned in my previous mail to the mailing list or if i try to port it to arm architecture? I have decided to go ahead with the improvements

NFS Hanging Under Heavy Load
Hello all, I'm currently experiencing an issue with an NFS server I've built (a Dell R710 with a Dell PERC H800/LSI 2108 and four external disk trays). It's a backup target for Solaris 10, CentOS 5.5 and CentOS 6.2 servers that mount it's data volume via NFS. It has two 10gig NICs set up in a layer2+3 bond for one network, and two more 10gig NICs set up in the same way in another

[PATCH 5/6] x86/jailhouse: Allow to use PCI_MMCONFIG without ACPI
From: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka at siemens.com> Jailhouse does not use ACPI, but it does support MMCONFIG. Make sure the latter can be built without having to enable ACPI as well. Primarily, we need to make the AMD mmconf-fam10h_64 depend upon MMCONFIG and ACPI, instead of just the former. Saves some bytes in the Jailhouse non-root kernel. [PATCH 4/6] x86: Consolidate PCI_MMCONFIG configs
From: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka at siemens.com> Not sure if those two worked by design or just by chance so far. In any case, it's at least cleaner and clearer to express this in a single config statement.
