Howto? 2 interfaces, same network, same gateway
Hello
Summary:
I have ifplugd managing eth0 and wlan0 (both dhcp). When I plug in the cat5
(which brings up eth0) applications which have already bound to wlan0 stop
working, obviously because wlan0 for some reason is unable to get non-local
packets out that interface.
I figured if poodoze is able to have both interfaces working, then linux must
surely be able to do it as well.

Hi everyone. I am so baffled by the following problem:
Office 1 is using ADSL and it is building a VPN tunnel with IPSEC to

IPSec tunnel mode, through a IPIP tunnel
Hello Gurus,
I am a small problem with routing and here are the details.
Interfaces on my server:
* ipsec0 - 172.19.58.94
* tunl0 - 172.19.58.94
* eth0 - 172.19.58.94
Now, the problem is that there is another host 172.19.58.200. All
communication to 172.19.58.200 should be through tunl0, and all the data
should be secured using IPSec (tunnel mode - because there are more

Still VPN
Hi, still trying to understand one thing. I would definitely like to
tell iptables to accept all packets coming from remote vpn only if they
hit the $VIRTUALVPNINTERFACE. I tried -o ipsec0 but this is not working,
looks like ipsec0 device doesn't exist or it is not recognized. I red on
the Openswan users list, that Linux kernel 2.6 native ipsec don't create

conditional routing based on tos/fwmark not working with ipsec
Hello all,
I am working with kernel 2.2.20 with the necessary options configured into
the kernel to support all of the wonderfully fancy routing features:
- routing based on ToS
- routing based on fwmark
- multiple routing tables
This same kernel is in use elsewhere, and is routing based on fwmark with
success. This leads me to believe that my kernel is OK and that I have

How to priorize VoIP in a Wi-Fi scenario? Default qdisc in Linux, PRIO, HTB and HFSC ...
Hi all,
Long email but please be patient :)
I am part of EHAS [1], a non profit organization which main goal is to
improve the Healthcare assistance in isolated rural areas in developing

Recently we have developed a long distance Wi-Fi network in Cuzco

racoon and ipsec issues
I am attempting to create an ipsec tunnel between two CentOS 5.1
systems, network-to-network with two different 192.168.xxx.0/24
LAN segments. I have gone through the documentation on the
centos web site, and have the machines to the point where the
/var/log/messages show ``IPsec-SA established'' on both machines
after runnig ``ifup ipsec0'' (same ipsec0 on each machine).

Configure wireless USB ethernet
I have a system that does *not* have a graphical desktop installed, nor do
I ever plan to. I have its wired ethernet working just peachy. Now I want
to configure a USB wireless ethernet and scratching my head. Particularly
since I don't use NetworkManager, everything is manually configured.
That said, if I enable NM, I see this in /var/log/messages:

[Bridge] Help: bridging eth0 and wlan0?
Hello all,
I'm trying to bridge the wlan0 and eth0 on an embedded
system. I used the following commands to setup the
bridge:
ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 promiscuous
ifconfig wlan0 0.0.0.0 promiscuous
brctl addbr br0
brctl addif br0 eth0
brctl addif br0 wlan0
brctl sethello br0 1
brctl setmaxage br0 4
brctl setfd br0 4

Dynamic Zones
The version of Shorewall in the CVS development tree contains the first
implementation of dynamic zones. While these zones are aimed at IPSEC Road
Warriors, there is nothing ipsec-specific in the implementation except for
a small extension in the tunnels file.
There are two new commands: add and delete
shorewall {add|delete} <interface>[:<host or subnet>] zone

Hello,
I''m trying to setup a central IPSEC-Gateway with several ipsec tunnels.
Some are to be routed over one leased line, some over the other leased
line. Both leased lines have their own public ip adress.
The setup looks kinda like this:

Hopefully this is a simple answer. I am new to setting up bridges on a
linux system. Here is what I have set up:
Laptop directly connected to the eth0 port on the bridge (A Soekris 4521

as wlan0. The wlan0 is setup in managed mode to communicate to my test

simple source policy routing not working
Hi,
my box is connected to 3 networks, eth0 eth1 wlan0. I want "my" traffic to go
via wlan0 and everything from eth1 NATed to eth0:
eth0 192.168.1.10/24
eth1 172.16.1.1/12
wlan0 192.168.10.190/24
I first tried this with two single hosts:
iptables -A POSTROUTING -j MASQUERADE -o eth0 -t nat
iptables -A POSTROUTING -j MASQUERADE -o wlan0 -t nat
echo 200 Forw >>
