zebra bgp and shorewall
Hi, I plan to implement a redundant Internet connection using BGP on 2 different Linux Routers. The routing daemon software I will be using is Zebra (zebra.org). I''m wondering if I should have my Linux firewall behind the 2 BGP routers, or could I keep the shorewall on both BGP routers? Has anyone had any experience with this? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Sam

Hi list, My network was assigned a private AS and my ISP(4) urged me to use BGP ! My Other 3 providers on my Shorewall BOX are typical aDSL lines while the 4th is an 1G optical uplink with 64 addresses. Currently I am in a balance, track mode in shorewall ISP setup.. After I installed - configured and started zebra + bgp my static routing tables got filled with about 850 static routes to

Zebra Striping a Collection of Partials
I''m using render to display a collection of partials, where each partial is a table row. Is it possible to zebra-stripe the table using this method i.e. alternate table rows get a different CSS class? I can''t work out how each row partial would know whether it was odd or even. In the normal scheme of things I could do: <% odd_or_even = 0 for asset in @assets

Zebra, Routing ...
Before I start, I don''t want to do ECMP or simple bonding ... I have multiple Internet connections available to multiple boxes on one of my networks. Box A connects to ISPs 1, 2 and 3 Box B connects to ISPs 1 and 4 Boxes A and B are both connected to each other and the rest of the network. 1) I would like to set up some dynamic routing in such a way that any given outgoing packet from

Two ADSL Lines either ECMP or BGP?
Hi - I am trying to find a Linux based solution for one of my clients, I want to bond two adsl lines into one, with redundancy (if one fails the other does all the work). I''ve been looking into ECMP (Equal Cost Multipath), I know BGP would work, but something like ECMP would be much simpler. I have full control of both ends of the connections and I can have both ADSL lines terminate in

Using zebra
Hello Anyone used Zebra routing daemon and created virtual routers before? Is it possible to run OSPF/BGP on each virtual server and get them to talk to each other? I''m new to Xen and I need to know... I will be trying this out in the coming days and I want to know about any pitfalls to avoid. -- Nonchalantly yours GobbledeGeek [Every thing but Gobbledegook.. !!]

Dual-homing BGP gate problem
Hi Tom, After two weeks of nightmares I decided ask You (and anyone reading this mail). Context is as follows: I try to update system on my central router from kernel 2.6.29.6 and Shorewall 4.2.6 (old) to kernel 2.6.31.6 and Shorewall 4.4.4.2 (new). This is LiveCD image boot (Devil-Linux distribution compiled by me), so config is this same. I have established ten OpenVPN tunnels and two

tc + zebra/quagga
I have some problem with traffic shaping on debian testing. I actually posted a full config on the list a while ago but didn''t get any answers. The problem is that traffic doesn''t get into the user classes (~150) when I associate a class with a qdisc. I tried sfq, fifo but none works. If I dont''t associate a qdisc with a class classification occurs well.

Dead Gateway Detection & BGP
Greetings to all, To start I’ll firstly lay down the foundation to what I have done so far and if those of you on the list can provide further insight, tips, links etc. This scenario consists of 2 firewalls (both running Debian “etch”), 2 Cisco routers (unsure of model numbers) connected together like so in the diagram below. ----------------------- | Uplink Provider |

registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry "vulnerabilities" which are detailed in the attachment. I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these issues are legitimate concerns,
