Doubt regarding priority of classes with HTB
Hi,
I''m a bit confused with the priority of different classes with HTB. How it will be? Will the class with lowest no: have maximum priority?
Any help is most appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Sanjeev

About "b" meaning "byte" and bit
Hi all :)
I think that this issue has already been discussed on this list, but
google didn''t find anything interesting, so I''m bringing the subject
again.
The output of "tc" uses "b" meaning "byte" and "bit" for "bit". The
"official" suffixes for those units are "B" and "b", respectively,

pop3s in Outlook
Hi,
I'm using Dovecot for pop3-ssl. Unofortunatelly, most of my users are using
MS Outlook. I want them to be able to remove standard mesage: "The
certificat is not signed by...", but I don't know how :-( In the dialog
isn't a button "Trust this certificate forever"...
Is there anybody, who know, how to solve this?
Many thanks.

postfix 2.3 SMTP AUTH and Outlook
Hi all,
I just maked $SUBJECT to run. The main problem was, that in Dovecot are
by default enabled only plain digest-md5 and cram-md5 authentication
mechanisms. While MS Outlook knows only "LOGIN" mechanism. So, Outlook
users wasn't able to use SMTP AUTH.
The solution is to change a line in dovecot.conf:
mechanisms = plain digest-md5 cram-md5
to:
mechanisms = plain digest-md5

cbq vs htb?
Hello,
Does anyone know when one should use cbq versus (simpler more accurate) htb? Specifically does cbq have added functionality that may be of interest to certain applications?
from htb home> Both CBQ and HTB help you to control the use of the
outbound bandwidth on a given link. Both allow you to use one physical link to simulate several slower links and to send different kinds of

I finally got it to work - and my ODROID-XU is now a passive member of the
LLVM builder society for the next week or so, until it has proven itself
(it monitors changes to the SVN repository and builds in my end without
bothering anyone at LLVM.org about its findings). I did write up a "short"
treatise on how to do it, in case anybody needs to do this sometime in the
future. I expect

newbie - shaping a PSTN connection
Hi - I''ve been going through the LARTC how-to and have successfully used the
sample scripts (and wondershaper) with my xDSL links.
I''m now faced with the challenge of providing 8 users at work an effective
remote access connection over a PSTN ppp connection. The critical traffic in
this case relates to our stock enquiry application which is running over
terminal services.

HTB: 3. Sharing hierarchy
On http://luxik.cdi.cz/~devik/qos/htb/manual/userg.htm...
There is a nice explanation on how/why to setup a hierarchy with HTB.
Howerver what is missing is how to setup finters for this case?
I had this working when I was using a seperat qdisc for each ?layer?,
making each HTB only one level deep. Described in the attached
qdisc.sh.GOOD.
Described in the attached qdisc.sh is my current script,

Excess Bandwidth
Hi,
I''m trying to configure QoS on my linux in the following manner:
I have a main link with 64K, so I divided it in 3 classes of 18K, 14K
and 9K with an excess (not used for classified traffic, just to be
shared) of 23K. This excess should be distributed proportonally among
the 3 classes, that is, the class that has more rate should borrow more
bandwidth. What is happening is

I'll use a redirection to the new article then. Did you try out the
.htaccess thingy we talked about on LLVM.org? It should work, without any
webmaster's assistance.

Problem after reboot
Hello all,
Rebooted my server by mistake (don't ask...) - everything was working OK
before the reboot, but after the reboot, NUT stopped working - so had a
look and I found I couldn't track the exact problem - I'm quite stumped
as there's nothing indicating that there's a problem, but it just
doesn't work...
In a nutshell....
