X11 build
Morning...
I have a package that I think wants to compile against the X11 source tree.
http://openchrome.org - its a snapshot from there....
Anyway the command it tells me to run is:
xmkmf /usr/src/xc
make
make install
This is to build a updated X graphics driver...
However when I do this I get errors as there is not /usr/src/xc (no
surprise)
I did then "up2date xorg-x11-sdk"

nouveau driver one centos 6
I "wish" to not load the or even install the nouveau driver by default.
I want to use the NVIDIA binary driver.
I have tried a number of things:
1) in my kickstart package section add the line:
-xorg-x11-drv-nouveau
This did not work - it was still installed.
2) use the nvidia installer and it asks to create a modprobe.conf file
to blacklist
the driver. I said yes thats what I want.

Intel Xorg driver for Intel HD graphics

Adding this to the boot - does not make it work on straight 7.2
I saw information about this - but it is mentioned on the page I
included that this was no longer needed with the files listed in the
link.
The kernel 4.4 installs and runs fine on the NUC5C. Its the
xorg-server package that is is my issue. Everything else ran fine.

xorg reconfigure display how
Hi,
I am trying to configure my X. I have a completely differnet monitor.
The old command was XFree86 -configure. I tried Xorg -configure and it
is not found.
I need to be able to see the selections on the screen. I tried
system-config-display --reconfig
and that works but I it selects the VESA generic. I need the list of
display choices like it
used to present.
Where is that under centos???

/etc/X11/xorg.conf question
If I use "system-config-display" or "system-config-display --reconfig"
although I get a message that I need to log out of GNOME, to have the
new file written, for new Display Resolution, logging out or
restarting the box does not result in the new settings for the Display
taking hold. Sometimes, the number of colors is updated, but *never*
the Resolution. Below is my xorg.conf

howto use kvm-amd on centos 5.1
Is there a way to use kvm-amd on centos 5.1?
I dont want to mess with XEN. I want the hardware virtualization that is
on my AMD chip.
I played with putting 2.6.24 and centos 5.1 on my AMD laptop, got
kvm-amd and that works. However
I want to put this on my desktop that is running 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5. Is
there a way or do I just
wave to use 2.6.24 or 25.
Thanks,

xorg--x11-fonts-75dpi vs xorg-x11-fonts-100dpi
What is the difference between xorg-x11-fonts-75dpi and xorg-x11-fonts-100dpi?
Under what circumstances would one want to use the 75dpi version versus the 100dpi version? If you have both installed, does the xorg server just pick the one that it considers best based on some criteria? Should you have both installed? Is anything gained by having both installed?
As you can see I don't know
