column and line graphs in R
Hi all, I would love to plot my data with R. I have abundance and frequency of fungal taxonomic data that should be plotted in the same graph. In Microsoft Excel is that possible but the graphic result is, as always, very poor. Is there a function that may let me plot these data in R? I have a matrix made of two columns, on is the relative abundance and the other is the relative frequency for

Probit analysis
Respected Sir/Madam, I have a question regarding calculation of LD50 (Lethal Dose) and IC50 (50% inhibitory concentration) of an antimicrobial experiment. I have used a compound isolated from a plant and observed its effect on the fungus *Fusarium oxysporum* by the food poisoning method. Solutions of the compound at concentrations of 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250µg/ ml were added to

coxph: competing endpoints & multiple time-dependent covariate
Dear R users: Analysis of the impact of a time-dependent covariate (GVHD or use of steroid after bone marrow transplantation) on two competing endpoints (invasive fungal infection and death) is frequently encountered in the setting of BMT data. Coxph package can be used as the following: for the analysis of GVHD: > gvhd -> coxph(Surv(start, stop, status = =1) ~ GVHD, data=bmt.data)

computer out of memory when using sigpathway
Dear R users, I am sorry to disturb you! But I really need your help for the usage of sigPathwy. Actually, I want a sliding window analysis for possible chromosome expression pattern mining. My research microorganism is a plant pathogen, Gibberella zeae, and I first used SAS to divide locus number with 10, 20, 30, or 40 on the fungal chromosome according to their location. I really

Kickstart Tips and Tricks
Hi, I am currently translating the Kickstart Tips and Tricks page (and nearly finished). Just on the last sentences I am not sure what they mean: 'Then inside the kickstart config itself where you device the network interfaces using the network statement. If you are using method 2 or 3 then you don't know which device actually will be used. If you don't specify a device for the

Tips and tricks : create image file from CD/DVD?
Should the wiki have a Tips and Tricks page for creating a ISO file from a CD or DVD? I realize this information is everywhere. Including http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Installation_Guide-en-US/s1-steps-network-installs-ppc.html I don't, however, find it on the wiki... Is it within the scope of the wiki project to have it somewhere?

[OT] *nix Server/Windows Client Tips and tricks
Sorry if this is too off topic, but one of the things that happens when you use a *nix box is you have opportunities to do some nifty tricks with shell scripts and whatnot to help maintain your network. Sometimes, this comes at the expense of using the tools that come with some windows software and is the result of necessity. Other times, this comes because the "nifty" tools that come
