Now I have all the packet forwards enabled, and there is a route from eth1 to the internal network, but if a computer on the internal network sets his gateway to the box, he can''t traceroute past the box to the internet. There are no iptable rules yet. Here is the routing

Using an external database behind a firewall
Hi everyone, There''s a separate database I''m using to get mail group info for our users (Sympa), and I''ve got Rails configured to pull data directly from it via an entry in database.yml The issue we''re having is that the database server in question is behind an internal firewall that has idle timeouts set at 30 minutes. If the connection isn''t used

[PATCH REPOST 1/2] common/mlstdutils: Add return statement.
No change, just reposting without the "for discussion" tag. I think we should allow this as it seems like a nice coding style for a limited subset of imperative-style code. Rich.

[PATCH 0/2] (mainly for discussion) Add ‘return’ statement.
When rewriting the heavily imperative original inspection code, I longed for a ‘return’ statement so I could keep the new code as close as possible to the original. OCaml of course does not have such a statement, but it's relatively simply to implement it in the language. The first patch does so, and the second patch rewrites a sample of the inspection code to use it. Rich.

Personal Firewalls
Hello, Our ISP provides a firewall and NAT services for our Intranet. However, within the Intranet, there appear to be personal firewalls around some anonymous PCs. The IP addresses of these PCs can be detected by our network monitoring tool. The identity of the user however remains anonymous. Are there any tools that can be used to penetrate the personal firewall and reveal the identity of the
