Postfix: Command died with status 89: "/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver"
One of our servers running Dovecot 1.0.beta3 and dovecot-lda has failed to deliver a few messages and I can't figure out why. Very few messages bounce and I don't see any common thread between them other than time. The 15:19:11 message was a company wide announcement and the other 4 servers (identical configuration) were able to deliver it. Feb 26 20:24:46 rental deliver:

QoS on a bridge+NAT
I have a setup where I have three NIC in a Debian box. I have eth1 conected to internet and eth0 NAT''ed to 192.168.1.1. eth1 and eth2 are bridged together, given ip 192.168.122.2. What I want to achieve is to perform traffic shaping on the bridge as well as prioritizing the traffic from eth0 very low. (This is from trental flat ...) However it seems that I am unable to perform thhe

QOS Script difficulty on bridge
I''m playing with the rather excellent QOS script from Alexander Clouter at http://digriz.org.uk/jdg-qos-script/ So far I am really impressed with it - a very impressive example of the power of linux QOS rules (has pretty much everything in it from the LARTC Howto!) However, the instructions hint that "for QoS to affect locally generated traffic in a non ethernet bridge setup

OpenSSH ports and crypto issues
hi, I am working on a windows NT version of openssh. It's mostly working (ssh.exe, ssh-keygen.exe to be precise), except for some minor UI issues. however, i have a couple of questions about making the port available: 1. minor issue: My port is based on the openbsd ssh source (2.5.2). Is this acceptable, or should I base it on the portable source ? I think I know the answer to that one. If

strange behaviour of qos
Hi I have the following problem: I''ve created qos script which shapes traffic on outgoing interface eth1. More - less it looks like this : ------------------------CUT------------------------------------------------------ #root qdisc and class for eth1 $tc qdisc add dev eth1 root handle 1:0 htb default 19 $tc class add dev eth1 parent 1:0 classid 1:1 htp ratel ${CEIL_UP}kbit ceil

QoS with Artifficial Intelligence
Hello everyone, it is not the first time i discuss this topic here, but now it has come the time to actually do it. My idea is to set up a daemon to run QoS on linux, with a particularity, add some A.I. capabilities to our system and hence, be able to change QoS "topology" every certain time to obtain the maximum performance. I first want to teach the system which parameters should i

Route generation and clash prevention
Let''s say you''re building a movie rental website. You have customers, movies, and rentals to manage. REST style urls might look like this: /customers/4 /movies/15 /rentals You''d probably also want administrators to be able to view all of the rentals done by a particular customer, and other similar details: /customers/4/rentals /movies/15/rentals /rentals/529/customers

Design question
Hi, I am really enjoying the experience of writing my first web app in Rails. I particularly like the instant feedback the framework offers when developing in small increments and I am learning new things all the time. However since I develop alone and my inexperience with rails I?m asking for help to answer some design questions that I have regarding my first app. After reading the Agile

Qos with 2 internet connections problems
Hi all, ive got 2 internet connections set up via the nano howto (which are working great) and we are running NAT. Was looking in to qos mainly to stop large http downloads/ftp downloads from hogging the line so that browsing for other users doesnt slow to a crawl, but if the line is free and no one is doing anything then for it to use the available bandwith. The wondershaper sounded exactly what

911 Q
OK, got a question on 911. Looking into setting up a couple asterisk servers at a country club, with VOIP phones in each of 100 short-term residential rental units. Approx 100 extensions, approx 24 outside lines. Since everything is geographically at one location, reaching 911 correctly shouldn't present a problem. However, the club wishes to ensure that 911 authorities are able to identify

Which VoIP router and switch to use for medium size business
Hi everybody, What is a proper setup for a medium size business with about 20 IP phones and 20 computers. Right now they are using a regular Linksys router which we use at homes. Their switch is also a very standard switch. Now they need to put there something better and VoIP compatible. What people use out there in serious and professional VoIP installations for medium size businesses? Is there

Info about VoiP Qos
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, i''ve been working on VoIP qos in the few weeks. I shape IAX2 and SIP, and i''m getting some interesting results. Im using HTB, the line is 512Kbps dedicated line, and we have some servers on the same line that generate quite a lot of traffic, frequently saturating the link. I''ve read through LARTC how to, example, etc,

Interactive traffic goeas to class1 , http,mail etc. to class2, p2p, ftp to class3, and rest to class4. Classess divide link in proportion 20% (prio 1), 40% (prio 2), 20% (prio 3) ,20% (prio 4) This works

a question about glm( )
Hi, I am working on an example about generalized linear model in a paper using glm( ). The code is quite simple and straightforward, but the result is rediculous. The true parameter is c(4, -6), but the result is c(2.264774, -3.457114) Can anybody tell me the reason for this? Thanks a lot!!! Here is the code: g=function(t){exp(t)/(1+exp(t))} #the given link function n = 100 # sample size
