dhcrelay on router
Hi, I''m setting up a router (linux, debian-sarge), which shall relay dhcp requests from all subnets to a central DHCP server. The general stuff is solved, i.e. I can ping from any connected machine to any other including the NICs of the router itself. All firewall tables (including nat and mangle) are set to ACCEPT and flushed. On my model system I have the NIC 172.16.1.121 (eth1),

a VM does not get dhcp
hi everybody I'm looking at my setup and got stuck I have a box with two NICs on the same subnet, and another box similar, also two NICs on one subnet, all four NICs are on the same subnet. Now, that second box has also a virtual NIC (libvirtd's bridge route mode) and VMs guests are using it, traffic to that virtual net is routed via 1st real NIC. This second box dhcrelays to the

configuring dhcp-relay / Shorewall
In our LAN a Linux-router connects 2 subnets. On this router dhcrelay is running. For several reasons we have to run a firewall on this box. But what is the right way to configure dhcrelay using Shorewall??? Thanks. -- Ad Koster <lidad@zeelandnet.nl>

Re: a VM does not get dhcp
Okay. I may be missing something; from what you explicitly write about subnets, it sounds like you only have one, but if you don't have two subnets, why do you need a DHCP relay? SO. Assuming you have two subnets: * It sounds as if your DHCP request is generating an ACK. * I'm 99% sure your ACK has to traverse the DHCP helper and wend its way back to the originating host. So

heavy VBR traffic with HTB
Hello! I made a simple configuration with HTB, 10% http and 90% Video, where http can share the available bandwidth left from video. But :(... i think HTB it''s not very fast and it can''t adapt quickly to the great variation of the MPEG 4 VBR (700M film), and some times it jerks a bit in great variations of bandwidth. I''m making a download to have always 100% bandwidth

Followup to "pxe weirdness" in syslinux archives
I'm running across the same weirdness mentioned in the "pxe weirdness" thread in the archives: http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2003-July/002229.html I couldn't find any followups to the issue. Was it a misconfiguration error? My setup is similar to James': I'm attempting to do a PXE install using DHCP sent via dhcrelay. I get the right IP, netmask, etc. but get

advices for a new installation
hello everyone, first of all, please forgive my bad english skill, I live in France. On our "old" Dovecot 1.x architecture, we have NFS shares between the front servers (MTA, IMAP...) and mail storage server. I've read some wiki2 pages that present the new director and imap proxy. But I'm still don't see things clearly, so I post here to have your advices to set-up a new mail

[LLVMdev] Advices needed for LLVM IR compilation
Hi, Our compiler currently generates a C++ class. It defines a data structure and emit code to access member of this newly data structure at the same time: access code is compiled when the shape of the complete data structure is not yet known. Can we keep the same scheme when targeting LLVM IR? Can we define a new structured type and compiled acces to fields in the same pass? Or do we

Your advices regarding authentication methods compatible with S4
Hi, Maybe this page might be helpful. I don't know how up to date it is, but the expectation seems to be that it should be able to work with alternative forms of authentication (with Kerberos PKINIT). https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_Smart_Card_Login Cheers, Garming On 16/03/18 22:43, Olivier BILHAUT via samba wrote: > > > Hi to Samba list, dev, contributors and all

Your advices regarding authentication methods compatible with S4
Hi Andrew, Hi Sam, Many thanks for your quick replies, we already worked on this doc page but due to the lack of smart card reader/writer, we did not finished the setup. We'll buy some hadware and create a testing S4 lab to finish this config. What about biometry ? Is there a way to store any biometrical information into the ldap backend ? Is there by any chance any other third-party

Your advices regarding authentication methods compatible with S4
Hi to Samba list, dev, contributors and all the community. We are samba users for a long time now, and S4 since the early alpha version. We run now 5 DC for 700 users in our hospital and are very enthusiastic. This is definitely a great project. But now, we face a new challenge. We look over a new authentication method rather than the old user/password. Because we have many users switching

Advices about migrate W2000 domain to SAMBA4
Hi, People: We have a Old (well functioning) Windows 2000 AD domain. We wish migrate DCs, if posible, to SAMBA4.? We actually have four sites with one DC in three of them and three DCs in one of them. Just one DC is Windows 2008, the rest is Windows 2000. Join SAMBA4 as DC automatically is not posible, I think, because DNS servers are not configured with 2008 behaviour and actual DNS entries
