wondershaper htb P2P downloads
Sir, Thanks for the wondershaper utility! It has improved the response time for my ssh connections to my home server whenever i need to access it from the Internet. However, is there a way to setup a bandwidth, say 10kbits/sec (i only have 128kbits/sec DSL), and assign it to a particular traffic type like kazaa and other P2P file-sharing? This way it will guarantee that my home users of

P2P comments thingy
I had an idea. I find it really difficult to get all the correct comments into my vorbis files, especially since i mainly rely on the freedb.org connectivity within CDex to save me from the time consuming task of getting the correct data into the files, making sure everything is spelled properlly etc. So i was just wondering if theres any viable point in the existence of a P2P comments software

observium graphs
Hello dovecot list, I'm in the middle of creating a plugin for observium[1] and would like to have it create[2] statistical graphs of my dovecot server [3]. The current state can be found here: https://image.ibb.co/efOO9a/dovecot.png However for visibility purposes it doesnt make sense and have observium plot two data sources with different orders of magnitudes right into one graph. infinite amount of data for HTB burst
Dear all, I''d like to ask for help with HTB configuration (after having read some manual pages, FAQs and forum posts). Short version: is there a way to specify infinite burst for HTB? (Infinite amount of data to use the "ceil" rate.) Long version: I have the following small topology: cable modem (uplink to ISB) | <ethernet>

PLEASE HELP! SHAPING P2P STILL NOT WORKING
Hello, some days ago, I was asking for help here about not able to do anything when I had bittorrent running, I will post the problem here: I''m using ipp2p to mark p2p packets, and then send them with -j CLASSIFY to the correct HTB class, I see traffic in the class when I start azurerus, and traffic does get shaped, but then I''m still not able to surf the web nor chat nor

AW: Re: Final Post/Lack of support
Hi all, it was really just a lack of time that I did not respond to all mails and I apologize for that. I just want to give a few statements about ..ogm and further development of the DirectShow filters: As Christian already outlined it wasn't my idea to change the extension to ".ogm". Anyway I added code for registering this extension due to some requests. I also think that it is

Speedup windows client [was] What is the maximum speed for download from a samba share
As counter example. My slowest server, AMD E350 2 core, max 1.6Gz. On 1Gb lan, disk 2x 5400rpm software raid 1 + 1 ssd. Copy Speed 115Mb/s as in max 1Gb bandwith, from a win7 and win10 pc to the raid1. File sizes. 100Mb+ get max 115Mb/s to a 4MB blocksized partition. 1-10mb files ,max 90-115Mb/s to a 1MB blocksized partition. 0.0-1mb files ,max 60-100Mb/s to a 4k blocksized partition.

Rsync shouldn't display a meaningless speedup on a dry run
On a dry run, rsync displays a speedup value calculated from the total size of the source file data and the amount of data sent over the connection, but this value is meaningless and grossly misleading because the file data is not sent over the connection. Example: [matt@mattlaptop2 test]$ rsync -avi -n ~/eclipse/releases/eclipse-SDK-3.3-linux-gtk.tar.gz . sending incremental file list

Scalability
Hello everyone, I want an opinion from people who tryed different matching modules to match diferent types of traffic, especially p2p ones. I would like to hear which scales better as CPU usage and latency : ipp2p, iptables-p2p or l7-filter with the p2p patterns. I want to use one of them to block most of p2p (except maybe dc++ and emule which i want to shape). I would use the matching rules in

speedup is always 0.99
I'm syncing from a USB disk to my hard disk like this: rsync -vr /path/to/usb/disk/dir/ /path/to/hard/disk/dir/ But the speedup is always 0.99 which I think means it is just copying the files each time instead of syncing them. What could be wrong? - Grant

Shaping services and users (2nd time)
Hello, I am making a HTB script for a few people and I wanted to ask a question. Now I have a nice script with this hierarchy of classes. root(128/128) +---WWW(32/128) +---Default(32/128) +---P2P(1/64) #P2P Programs like DC and Kazza +---.... How should I implement limiting the speed of some users (by IP addresses)? I had an idea, but it looks too compicated. What do you think?
