ActionMailer tmail/quoting.rb problem
Hi,
Why did you allow this incompatibility? ;)
* fixtures/notifications/signup:
_foo
@expected.body = read_fixture(''signup'')
p @expected.body
#=> " foo\n"
# because text.gsub(/_/," ")
If you enhance TMail::Mail#body like this,
I want you to convert mail.body code in render_body.
My mailer code now:
# topic is a ActiveRecord instance. topic

ActionMailer view templates don''t pick up application_helper.rb?
It seems that helper methods defined in application_helper.rb aren''t
available in ActionMailer views.
Is that intentional?

ActionMailer & application_helper.rb
Hi,
I''m trying to send some emails with the same formatting as my pages & I
can''t seem to access my display routines in application_helper.rb. I''m
trying a hack to bypass this.
At the top of my ActionMailer notifier script I''ve included
application_helper.rb - my understanding is that this should arrive as a
module and should be able to be used

ActionMailer w/o database link (e.g., feedback form)
Hey,
A total noobieQ. Apologies, still learning.
Could anyone point me to examples of a non-database-driven feedback
form, for instance, a simple e-mail feedback form that takes advantage
of ActionMailer? (How do I carry a POST through to a ''def'' w/o a
database connection?)
Thanks!

from attribute in actionmailer not working w/ gmail
I assign an email to the from attribute in my actionmailer, but I think
because I use the TLS plugin to get actionmailer to work with gmail, it
dissallows me to use change the from address. Instead it uses my gmail
account. Has anyone experienced this before?

Does ActionMailer support multiple configurations? Can an ActionMailer child class define a custom configuration?
Hello,
I read that the ActionMailer configuration should be set in the
environment.rb file (See http://am.rubyonrails.com/ and page 399 in the PP
Rails Book).
In my case, I have a customer rep admin application that administers
multiple websites. One of the features involves emailing the login info for
new subscribers that that sign up for the websites by mail.
I would like to use the

Storing environment.rb settings in the database...
Has anyone accomplished storing settings that would normally go in
environment.rb into the database?
For instance, I''d like it if I could specify my ActionMailer properties from
a web UI admin panel
ActionMailer::Base.server_settings = {
:address => "mail.server.here",
:port => 25,
:domain => "somewhere.com",
:authentication => :login,

ActionMailer to send to multiple people
I''ve been working with ActionMailer for a few days and finally have a
pretty good grasp of it. In the book I''m reading, it shows how to send
to multiple users or an array of users.
Is there a setting or some configuration I can do to send the email to
each person separately, or would I just need to loop through each user
and send one email at a time?
What is the best way to

ActionMailer and url_for in helper methods
Hi,
I was wondering how to get url_for to work inside ActionMailer. I did
research on the web but I can''t seem to find something that fits what I
need.
In my application, each user can specify their custom domain to access
their. I have an ActionMailer that sends them notifications of changes
that occur. In there, I have a breadcrumbs helper method, which
generages something like:

Difficulty with body in ActionMailer
AWRDwRv2 is pretty vague on the @body part of setting up a mailer. Here
is my problem:
>> p = Person.find(1)
=> #<Person:0x45c944c>
>> SiteMailer.request_admin_approval(p)
NoMethodError: You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it!
You might have expected an instance of Array.
The error occurred while evaluating nil.[]=

Do I need an SSL certificate to use ActionMailer 2.2.2?
Hi guys - I''m sorry to post about this issue again but after several
days I still cannot get ActionMailer working and I''ve been through
every tutorial/forum looking for the answer.
I know ActionMailer now requires SSL validation, does that mean I need
to purchase an SSL certificate before I can send emails?
If not, is there anyone out there who can help me set up my mailer to

DreamHost and ActionMailer
I''m getting ready to sign up with DreamHost, but my application is
missing the ActionMailer features.
First, can anyone provide some real code to send an email upon comment
submission?
Second, is it easy to setup ActionMailer on a DreamHost server?
Thanks!

ActionMailer in production vs development environments?
I''m using ActionMailer to write an email message; for the time being I''m
creating an email object, but rendering it in the browser instead of
sending it. I have code like this:
email = PasswordMailer.deliver_confirm(@member)
render(:text => "<pre>" + email.encoded + "</pre>")
This works great in the development environment but throws a Rails

Why won't my ActionMailer work inside the controller?
I''ve got a basic mailer setup and am simply trying to get a Hello
message through. If I go into script/console and execute
Emailer.deliver_message("myself-3Q2Tfjf0mexWk0Htik3J/w@public.gmane.org","My subject", "My

it works fine.
However, if I fire up a controller with a test method that invokes the

Auto detect URL for ActionMailer?
Hi,
how can I call the url in an actionMailer definition - so that it
automatically detects what the rails application server is and puts it
in the url that is mailed to the client? (I don''t want to have to change
it every time the hostname is changed - I''d like the application to auto
detect what the host is - whether it''s localhost:3000 or my own
website...

Hello everyone... i''m Italian, sorry for my poor English, but I find
myself in difficulties with this method.I don''t need to redirect the

ActionMailer undefined method `parameters' - Rails 2.1
Hello Rubyists,
I''m currently trying to get email hooked up via ActionMailer, and while
I''ve gotten it to work in the past on Rails 1.2.x, I''m seeing an error
that I''m unfamiliar with.
Right now, I''m just trying to send email from my dev box via the SMTP
server at work.
